Selection of Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and Action Planning. (Began December 9th)
LEE’S SUMMIT 360° VISION STATEMENT (PHASE I)
Lee’s Summit is a sustainable and vibrant city with a dynamic spirit of cooperation among its diverse citizens, businesses, organizations, educational systems and governments. Through comprehensive community planning and regional collaboration, Lee’s Summit enjoys economic independence and a high quality of life as a recognized destination city.
COMMUNITY SCAN AND TRENDS (PHASE 2) Identify trends and issues that impact the
community through small group discussions
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of government and nonprofit entities through a Civic Index Survey
Conduct and present an extensive community assessment of the current status of many projects and issues in the Lee’s Summit community
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (PHASE 3) Phase I & 2 reveal the priorities called Key
Performance Areas.
Small task forces will then outline the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that will impact this KPA.
Lastly, these task forces will create Mini Vision statements for each KPA Establish goals and outcomes for the KPA Assign action steps and strategies that will aid in the
implementation of the plan for the KPA.

Formulate KPA goals & the rationale for each area Create one coordinated plan outlining each of these
KPA’s & how they should be implemented Present final plan to City Council for review in May Establish an implementation committee to carry out
the plan
