1708SnowmanShow Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper The horse with the ultimate rags-to-riches story! In 1956, riding instructor Harry de Leyer went shopping for potential school horses in Pennsylvania. Purchased by de Leyer for $80 as he was being loaded into a van bound for the slaughterhouse, the 7-year-old gelding became a hit with his children, who dubbed him “Snowman.” But when sold to a local doctor, he kept jumping fences and returning to de Leyer. Recognizing his talent, de Leyer began training him for the show ring. Soon, Snowman was beating the country’s best jumpers everywhere he went.
Snowman was champion at the 1958 National Horse Show, winning the stake there the following year. In 1958 and 1959, he was named both the American Horse Shows Association (now the USEF) Horse of the Year and the Professional Horsemen’s Association Champion. Breyer’s Snowman is being brought back by fan request!

1707SamDouble Olympic Three-Day Event Gold Medalist In 2012, Germany’s Michael Jung and his champion eventing horse, a 2000 Württemberg gelding named Sam, made eventing history when they became the first horse and rider ever to hold Olympic, European and World titles simultaneously!
Their winning streak started at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, where they finished first to claim the individual World Championship. In August 2011, Jung and Sam went on to compete in the FEI European Eventing Championships at Luhmühlen, Germany and brought home their first European World Championship, in addition to leading Germany to a team gold medal.
Entering the 2012 Olympic Games in London as World and European Champions, Jung and Sam jumped two clear rounds in show jumping and earned the individual gold for eventing. This pair’s incredible performances also helped team Germany win their second consecutive Olympic team gold medal in eventing!

1705Pinto Sport Horse Sport Horses are bred to perform in the Olympic disciplines: eventing, dressage and show jumping. Their size, talent and athletic ability make them a natural fit in these challenging events! Thoroughbreds are often used in the breeding of Sport Horses, in addition to Warmbloods and Warmblood crosses. Occasionally, Warmbloods are crossed with colored horses, such as Paints, Pintos and Appaloosas, to create a Sport Horse of color! 1701TrooperNorth American Police Equestrian Championships Top Horse The North American Police Equestrian Championships is an annual event where law enforcement officers partake in a fun and challenging two-day competition which includes multiple classes: Equitation, Uniform, Western Division and the crowd favorite, Obstacle Course. The winner of the Obstacle Course is known as NAPEC’s Top Horse. The 2012 Top Horse was Trooper, a 9-year-old Percheron/Hackney cross gelding, ridden by Constable Gregg John of the Toronto Mounted Police Department, Toronto, Canada.

1704Lindsay’s FaithWinner - America’s Favorite Trail Horse Born in the wilds of Wyoming, Lindsay’s Faith was gathered by the Bureau of Land Management shortly before she turned six. She was selected to participate in the Mustang Heritage Foundation’s inaugural Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover, an event where 6-year-old mustangs are adopted by trainers who have only 100 days to gentle and train them, and then show off their new skills in an exciting live competition in front of hundreds of spectators.
Adopted by trainer Mary Miller-Jordan, Lindsay’s Faith made it to the finals of the Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover. After the competition, the pair began competing in American Competitive Trail Horse Association events, and was selected to participate in the 2011 America’s Favorite Trail Horse competition, the “American Idol” of the trail horse world, where fans voted Mary and Lindsay’s Faith the winners!
