A new approach to Membership.

As of the last meeting we had enrolled 60 new members. Therefore the first $50-4-50 Draw took place on the next Friday after the meeting. The

winner was Brad Squires.

I had hoped I could have announced he had his prize doubled by reaching the first 50 in 30 days but unfortunately that was not to be.

It only takes one in every five members to sponsor a member to reach this target so it is do-able, maybe it was just the slow season and we will do better for the next one. the offer still stands. The 50-4-50 draws will continue throughout the year, the lodge will be supplementing it with other incentivesdesign as a comprehensive package c o v e r i n g e v e r y e l e m e n t o f membersh ip . These w i l l he lp generate more candidates, encourage

less expirations and reward Member loyalty and be phased in as the logistics are worked out. Check the Extension - Retention Center for dates.

Maybe you are like me, whose every friend is already a Moose member and you find it difficult to sponsor a new member. This new campaign creates other ways to contribute and gain recognition and which in total should help increase sponsorship.

To me 501 is like a soccer team, we have our stars but it’s team play that wins tournaments. It has to attract younger players to continue the team’s legacy, who fit the team’s style, while not discarding it’s loyal older players when their playing days are over who bring wisdom and expertise and attract community appreciation. There is a role for all us even the guy who keeps the grass at the right standard plays a major role in the teams achievements and it’s success truly benefits so many. Please join me in making this Lodge the best in the fraternity.

Hello Middletown

Wow, where’s the summer gone..

Things should start happening around the lodge, the least of which is the new M e m b e r s h i p package which is introduced by Bob in this newsletter. This is the first time we have tried such a package. Every member should find something in it for them and if it is embraced it could change the way our membership has fluctuated in the recent past.

Our Picnic will be on Saturday Oct 8th. Look for details to be posted.

The lodge could use a few good volunteers to help with some of the jobs which need doing around the Lodge, contact me if you can help.

Richard.

Loyalty Rewards

The lodge will be offering members a chance to reduce their annual dues by investing in the lodge and their future (See Page 5)

This credit will soon mount up to be equivalent to getting a free years dues every few years. While at the same time help stabilize the haphazard nature of expirations on the revenues of the lodge. In doing so will help ensure the member’s get the sustained member benefit the Lodge always seek to give them.

There are a few logistics to be worked out after which all current members will be able to participate throughout the year and will not have to wait for their membership renewal date.

Watch for the starting date notice which wil l be posted on the Extension- Retention center.

“SUPER SAVER”

“SUPER SAVER”

The USA ladies Football (Soccer) Team, lost their chance to win a gold in the Olympics in a Penalty Shootout. Here was a team with 4 wins in Olympic finals and 2 World Cups failing to qualify for the next round. A Penalty kick always favors the kicker, the goalkeeper can not move off their line until the ball is kicked, and the ball takes approximately .04 of a second to reach the net. Therefore saving penalties are a super human effort, and in these circumstances are essential to not losing .

Watching this, made me realize how similar that experience is to the end of each month membership count. No matter how well the Lodge or Chapter has done in attracting new members during the month, its only when we count the members who have failed to pay their dues that month do we know what more we have to do to have a winning month. Fortunately, even as we move into the next month/months we still have time to make a few good saves.

Every expired member who is encouraged to pay their dues, is equivalent to a penalty being saved, and helps maintain our winning effort . Therefore the member who encouraged them to do so is worthy of recognition.

Until further notice every member who successfully encourages an expired member to pay their dues will be recognized on “A Wall of Fame’ and will be entered into a draw for one years free dues.

All members are invited to try out to become

SUPER SAVER. Expired member lists will be available at the Extension Retention Center located opposite the entrance door. These will help check on buddies you have sponsored or friends who have slipped into expiration status. Contact them, it maybe renewing their dues has slipped their mind, encourage them to do so and you will be recognized for your efforts. Just fill out one of the special fo rms (see r igh t panel) also located at

the Extension Retention Center to request recognition as a Super Saver. Every time you encourage an expired member to pay their dues you will be entered into a draw. The more times you do so the more chances you have of winning a one year free membership.

The Wall of Fame contains a specific number of places and when all are filled the draw will take place.

A member must be on the expired list to qualify as a expired member.

Members participation is the surest way to continue to ensure members can get the best value for their membership and the Lodge maintains a stable membership.

Watch the Extension Retention Center for dates

The panel to the right shows the continuing $50-4-50 draw. Which will continue to give an incentive to those who sponsor new members. Still on offer is the doubling of the Prize should they sponsor 50 in any 30 day period. At the same time. the lodge will give a new member options which both rewards their initial interest and longer term loyalty by giving them an incentive. (See page 9)

While the enrollment fee is required by Moose International, the lodge will credit the new member with Moose bucks to that value if the they add an additional year. Candidate will have until their orientation to accept this offer. At which time they will receive the Moose Bucks.

As part of the new membership program two “Extension - Retention Awards Party Nights” will be added to the calendar these will be Saturday November 12th 2016 and April 8th 2017

It is hoped members will take full advantage of these programs to help our lodge increase and maintain a level of membership which will bring gains and loyalty to become an example for others to follow

Founders Day Weekend

Every year, Middletown seek to run a bus to Mooseheart. In order to judge the level of interest members are requested to submit the above form to an Officer.

The officers encourage any members, especially to make this trip. For around $250 this will be the most worthwhile trip a member can make, to see first hand the good your membership does and will be the best value for the event.
