Rallies Could I just say many thanks to those people who have volunteered to run rallies in 2011. Your commitment is much appreciated – thank you. There are still 7 rallies requiring stewards, including 2 bank holidays. These are: 27 – 31 May (Bank Holiday) Bourton Rovers FC, Bourton on the Water 26 – 30 Aug (Bank Holiday) Greenacres, Bibury, Cirencester 02 – 04 September 5 Ways Lakes, Wolvey, Nr Hinckley 14 – 16 October Heathcote Lakes, Warwick 21 – 23 October Hanbury Village Hall 18 – 20 November Warwick Girls Marching Band 28 Dec – 02 Jan New Year –venue required If you would like to run one of these rallies, please pick up the phone or see me on the rally field. Don’t forget, you can steward a rally free of charge and if you are in receipt of the 50p rally rebate, then this will be doubled to £1 if you take a weekend rally – can’t be bad! Dave Palmer Rally Secretary
Catton Hall Lichfield 3 – 5 September
After some discussion about whether or not this rally should be cancelled, the stewards Michael and Sandra Ibberson volunteered to carry on as stewards despite their co steward dropping out and only six vans booking in. On the Saturday, we went for a walk to the National War Arboretum at Alrewas and we were all impressed by the quality of the various memorials in a lovely setting. Quite a moving experience in many ways but especially the new wall with lots of space for future additions – a very sobering thought. The rally coincided with an International firework display in the grounds of Catton Hall where 4 companies put on separate displays on the Saturday night. We placed windbreaks in a square and had a couple of gas heaters and a few drinks warming us. The night was clear and dry. We had a grandstand view over the trees and fields and everyone agreed that it was a magnificent show. All for free (normal cost should have been £25 I believe) Pity only 6 vans were able to attend. Apparently this display is usually an annual event held in September and I have been asked to put on another rally to coincide with the display in the future. It is too late for 2011 but I will bear it in mind for 2012. Thanks to the stewards Mike and Sandra and the rally attendees who all contributed to a small but perfectly formed rally!!! Junior Committee
On behalf of my Committee, I would like to thank all those members
who have supported the Junior Committee in 2010 and contributed
to our chosen charity. I hope that you will continue to support us in
our fundraising for a charity that is particularly close to us all,
Breast Cancer, chosen in memory of Joan Perks. To that end we will
be calling around to see you over the coming weeks to collect any
unwanted gifts that we can use in raffles and tombola’s etc.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Nadine Chew, Junior Chair.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Congratulations to Ron and Cathy Howell on the safe arrival of your second granddaughter Abigail Mae born on 13th August 2010 to their daughter Rebecca and son-in-law John, best wishes to you all.
Committee Photo Competition
Entries can now be submitted for the 2011 photo competition. The theme will
again be caravanning and can be submitted to me preferably by email
attachment. They should be in portrait format please but if not the photo will
need to be of sufficient size and quality for the relevant part of the photo to
be cropped to fit the rally book (7” x 5”) Closing date is the stewards meet in
September 2011. Entries will be judged by an independent sub committee
and whoever submits the winning entry will receive a free weekend rally from
the 2012 programme.

Dinner Dance 2011 Jason Rosamond has again asked that we mention the Dinner Dance 2011.
For those not in the know, it was a very successful event in February this
year although the turnout of centre members was low. The visitors that
attended this year were the committee of the Central Region. They were
so impressed with the event that they have sold it to their members and
as a result Jason is getting a lot of enquiries. Twenty five confirmed
bookings to date.
The message from Jason is to book early if you want to attend this
prestigious event. You can find the booking form on line. A £10.00 deposit
per meal is required to secure your tickets.

Secs Corner
Can I remind the members that weekend rallies open at 4pm. This is
the time that is stated in the rally book, written into our rules. If
you want to arrive early at a rally, please contact the stewards and
ask if it is okay. Please do not assume that you can just turn up
when you want.
In the event that you book into a rally and you need to cancel,
please contact the stewards as soon as possible. This is especially
important in the event of a limited rally.
Do you want an email copy of the Bully? If so please email Lin or
Jenny.

KINGS LYNN HOLIDAY RALLY
2nd – 11th September 2010
Two pairs of stewards, namely, Jenny & Roger Bailey and Kath & Dave
Davies, decided they would take this rally never having stewarded a MCCC
holiday rally before. They waited all summer for booking forms to “roll
in”. First to pay up was Walter Perks. We intended to go but could not
commit until the last minute, so mid-summer came and went with one
certain and a few probables and possibles. However a grand total of 6
booked in.
Undeterred Jenny, Roger, Kath and Dave battled on, reduced numbers and
circumstances aside, they put on: Skittles supported by Martin Harvey and
Ted Edenborough, with afternoon tea, glorious weather, we sat around all
Sunday afternoon in the sun.
There was a brand new toilet block with free showers-all to ourselves.
Daily bingo, which we won – thanks very much. There was a
summerhouse type room on the site and stewards arranged a small
collection to hire this one evening, and ordered fish and chip supper to be
delivered from a local fish and chip shop. Followed by a Quiz and Beetle
Drive. Music provided by Walter. There were a few CL folk on site and we

spent one evening with them. It is funny how similar our life’s experiences
were, when conversations began to flow.
If you ever get chance to go to Kings Lynn, our favourite haunts were
Sandringham and Sheringham, Wells next to the Sea, Hunstanton near by
if you like a bit more entertainment. There is also a quieter side to here
with lovely cliff walking.
Some of us went on a guided tour of Kings Lynn which took us around
old merchant’s buildings, courtyard gardens, and little nooks and crannies
hidden from the hustle and bustle of the town. We were lucky to have
lovely early autumn weather.
Thanks go to Stewards for working hard to make this rally “one to
remember”.
Joan and Eddy Herbert.
Flo Gas
For those of you that purchase Flo gas, we have recently heard that they will
be charging for delivery in the future?
Easter Rally Your Committee have taken the decision to run the Easter Rally. We are putting a programme together to cover a five day rally with entertainment on four nights. We are hoping to invite the Caravan Club Choir to the event who are all caravanners. Derek has offered to entertain us with his new duo Phoenix Rising. Mick Hale will be our mainstay of music with Mix and Match on one night and supporting the other nights. Nicki Jones JLO, will be in charge of the Easter Egg hunt which should keep the youngsters busy for a couple of hours. There may also be a table-top sale and/or a tombola run by the Juniors in aid of their chosen charity, Breast Cancer. We are also looking at the feasibility of putting on a hot meal on one or two nights. Your support at this rally would be most welcome. Brian McGivney
