MARK YOUR CALENDAR Speakers and Issues The Mayor’s Daughter MSU’s own James Hoggard, author and distinguished professor, will read from his new novel, The Mayor’s Daughter at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 27, at the Muse- um of Art at MSU. Hoggard creates a place like Wichita Falls in the mid-1920s where, as prominent novelist Sarah Bird said, he gives us an extraordinarily powerful family drama. The potent forces detailed in The Mayor’s Daughter include both lyrical and raw turns in a world where a figure of courage rises in the midst of breath- taking cruelty and hard-earned sense of justice and hope. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. For more information, call ext. 4259. Exploring the World of Art Bus Tour The Museum of Art at MSU presents Exploring the World of Art at the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Mu- seum of Art. The bus departs at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, from the Museum of Art. Space is limited. Price is $45 and includes bus fare, museum admission, docents, and refreshments.
