What does the Microsoft 365 data migration service provide?The Cobweb Microsoft 365 data migration service is designed to help businesses move data from existing services to Microsoft 365 utilising SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

Using industry best practice and more than 20-years’ experience helping customers, Cobweb’s SharePoint experts will work in partnership with your team to assess and migrate your data.

The service comprises the following three phases:

1. Assess

During the assessment phase, the migration team will:

• Gain a full understanding of your business migration goals and data requirements

• Assess and review your current infrastructure with a pre-migration report, to include identifying:

• The current data structure and size

• Any invalid characters and filepath lengths

• Any incompatible components that we would be are unable to migrate

• Design and propose a new solution based on your business goals

• Create a required migration roadmap to deliver the proposed solution

• Output the results of the assess phase to a statement of work document.

2. Migration

Using the output from the assess phase and the requirements of the agreed target solution, Cobweb’s migration team will use one of the following methodologies to move your data to the cloud, through:

• Creating and configuring a destination environment based on the agreedrequirements

• Applying security measures, to include defining required permissions

• Creating an agreed migration schedule

• Migrating data to either SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business or a combinationof both, based on business needs.

3. Post-migration

The post-migration phase includes:

• Provision of guidance and/or user training for the new SharePoint Online platformif requested and agreed in the assess phase

• Optional support with user adoption and any potential end user impact.
