Moore finished the 10K walk in a time of 1:12. Sheila Farah and Jennifer Ristok followed with times of 1:13 to win their age/gender categories, while Tina Stewartwon her division with a time of 1:14. Kathleen Moro crossed the finish line a minute later to place second in her division. Elizabeth Evans competed the 5K walk in 40:20 to place second in her division. Pat Dos Santos, Karyn Ristok and Tiffany Petty all posted personal- best times in the 10K race. The Canada Fit Walking Team is coached by Pam Elliot and Jennifer Ristok. The event benefit- ed Minds in Motion, raising money for Waterloo Regional Homes for Mental Health Inc. Local girls help Erin Mills to U11 league soccer title Four Oakville girls recently helped their Erin Mills under-11 A squad to the South Region Soccer League champi- onship. Sarah Nixon, Victoria Gregatti, Jaelyne Kirkpatrick and Megan Segeren (above photo, left to right) played key roles in Erin Mills’ 2-0 win over Brams United in the championship game at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre. Erin Mills finished the season with a 12-3 record, won the Eagle Cup Tournament and Oakville Indoor Soccer Tournament, and reached the finals of West Niagara and Laval tourneys. Peewee Hornets dominate Scoring 43 goals and not allowing any, the Oakville peewee A Hornets rocked the competition at the recent Ohio Flames Tournament in Cleveland. Oakville hammered the host Flames 11-0 in the championship game to lock up the gold in the under-12 Tier 2 division. Silver for minor atom Rangers After winning their first three games and placing first in the preliminary-round standings, the Oakville minor atom AE (additional entry) Rangers were forced to settle for silver in the recent Richmond Hill Stars Tournament. Oakville defeated the Georgetown Raiders 4-1, Aurora Tigers 5-1 and Richmond Hill Kings 2-0 to start the tour- nament, but was upset 7-2 by the Raiders in the championship game. Contributing to the silver-medal effort were Justin Hui, Michael Legge, Tyler Stodulski, Thomas Campbell, Rachel Marmen, Michael Keating, Zachary D'Amico, Adam Grant, Adam Grace, Devon Wilson, Tyler Stevenson, Liam Gravelle, Justin Lyttle, Joshua Aloe, Matthew McGuigan, Roberto D'Agostino and Christopher Vezina.
