HOUR OF CODE
This week at Milgate, students have been doing an ‘Hour of Code’ to celebrate Computer Science Education Week.
It is from December 5-11 and is held annually in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906). If you would like to know more or would like to support your children to continue coding at home, please visit www.hourofcode.com/au

EARLY DEPARTURES [before 3.30pm] Parents are required to have an Office staff member record the early departure BEFORE collecting your child from their classroom.

STUDENT REPORTS AND PORTFOLIOS
Teachers are currently writing student reports and these will be available for parents to access on COMPASS from Friday 16 December. Students will also take home their portfolios on Friday 16 December. The portfolios showcase the students’ learning and the students are looking forward to talking about their learning with their parents.
CURRICULUM DAYS / PUPIL FREE DAYS
In 2017 the following days will be Curriculum / Pupil free days. There will be no school for students on these days and the teachers will be participating in professional learning. The dates are as follows:

Book Packs | Collection Days
Student charges will be closed on Compass after Sunday 11 December to allow processing of online payments in preparation for the book pack collection days. Book packs can be collected from the staffroom, entry via the doors near the Canteen, on the following days/times: Thursday 15 December 8:30am – 9.30am

3.00pm – 4.00pm School Banking Last banking day is Monday 12 December. Canteen News FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER We will be closed for lunch orders and window sales due to End of Year Celebrations for Years 1 - 6. We will however be running the Build a Burger Day for Year 1's as part of their End of Year Celebrations. FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER This is our last day for lunch orders and window sales. We will be closed on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 December.
We would like to thank all of the families who supported our fundraising events this year. It's been a busy year for the P&F, running the Easter Raffle & Bonnet Parade, Mother's Day Stall, Disco, Entertainment Books, Cadbury Chocolate Drive, Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, CUA Community Grant, Father's Day Stall, Fun Run, Trivia Night and the Doncare Christmas Tree. We have raised $37,189 this year, which will be spent on improving the school grounds for our kids to enjoy. Thanks to the P&F Members for the time they dedicated to running these events.
