It was good to see that players like Micky Gelic, Jovan Markovic & Aca Nikolic were still in their outfits from the night before, on what obviously looked like a bender that carried on from Saturday night. Even the more sensible players like, Draza Stefanovic, Zivko Margetic & Veljko Krajacic were doubting the MK Cup going ahead due to a wash out, however, with an early morning taste of Rakija, coffee & banter, the teams were sorted, the wet gear was on & the first golf ball was fired off the commence the cup. By the time the first 9 holes were played, many of the diehard players were looking at the sky & wondering if we should all wrap this up & go off to the Serbian Sports Club in Keysborough & just have the luncheon, drinks & complete the presentation. However, there were too many good scores in progress to stop playing, the 2 players that stood out from the field were Petar "Geelong or Melbourne" Stojanovic & Dragutin "Bernard's Serbian father" Tomic, the other usual suspects like Sladjan Krsic & Micky Djordjevic were also out there posting good scores. The MK Cup being a group & team event, meant that not only did you have to play well, but your partner had to as well, by the end of the day, the SGC Geelong, ran away with the win, with a 6 to 2 score line. Pavle Jonovic, presented the MK Cup back to Stan Mirkovic amongst the applause & jokes. Needless to say, it was a great event & a great turn out, players from the clubs sat back to enjoy the meals, drinks & stories, many of the boys kicked back long after the golf was finished to laugh & enjoy what's best about Social Golf. Other notable mentions were, new member Dejan "Deano" Stojanovic had a good start to his VSGC debut, Nebojsa Protic continued to post another score, & Peter's Pavlovic & Kulincevic spoiled the party for Mirko Pajic & Jovan Markovic. All the NTP's were dominated by the VSGC with Ratko Petkovic starting the trend on the second hole, with Sladjan dominating the 7th & 16th, having said that the Longest Drive (against the wind) was taken by Micky Gelic, with a monster strike, outclassing the field. In summary, a fun day in the wet & as always great to see both clubs making the effort to play the MK Cup in great spirit to honour Milutin Kostic the man. Milutin Kostic Cup - no wind or rain can stop Geelong taking back the MK Cup

On a cold wet & windy day, The SGC Geelong made the trek across to Patterson River to claim back the MK Cup (albeit in style).

Nothing was going rain on the Geelong parade, the VSGC handed back the MK Cup with the Geelong boys having a comprehensive win over its sister club.

An early start at Patterson River GC saw a good turnout of players, this surprising included George Simic who is afraid of the wet, Bobby Rankovic who also hasn't gotten out of bed before 9am in the last 3 years & Milan Vekovich whose bones still crack when the temperature is below 10 degrees.

VSGC Main scorers

Bora Vasic, Nebojsa Protic & Dragutin Tomic (the days champion – top scorer)

Just like the old days of Fitzroy vs Westgate, Sasha & Micky having a drink & talking about the day’s

good bad & ugly.

As always Micky Gelic comes out the winner. (Actually, they look like Tom & Djordje)

Partners in Crime…. No beer today

Peter Pavlovic & Mick Mirovic

Ratko Petkovic & Timce Spasevski, enjoying the after golf refreshments & some good laughs.

Just before it rains - Micky Djordjevic with new member Dejan “Deano” Stojanovic.

We’ll have to quickly adjust Dean’s handicap, as he’s no slouch on the golf course.

All the Presidents Men –

Mirko Pajic, Jovan Markovic , Sladjan (Standing), El Presedente Pavle & Aca Nikolic

The Serbian Sports Centre always puts on a good meal, & the members were there to sample the

basic food group of meat.

Petar Stojanovic (eating), Mirko Pajic, Jovanni Markovic & Sladjan Krsic.
