MIMI SCHOOL “WHERE THE COUNTRY, COAST, AND CLASSROOM MEET”

June 12, 2014

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Once a year, schools celebrate Sup-port Staff Day. This is an opportunity for schools to say thank you to office administrators and teacher aides. These people make a huge contribu-tion to quality teaching and learning every day. They work in increasingly complex roles and have a high level of skills. So, today teachers and chil-dren thanked Sibylle, Tara and Keri for their commitment to making a dif-ference and contributing in such a positive way to our fantastic school.

Also, in this newsletter you will find a story written by some of our senior students about the National Young Leaders Day that they attended last Monday. They had a great day! Enjoy the rest of the week.

Kind regards

Karin Jury Acting Principal

National Young Leaders

Conference

On Monday a group of Mimi sen-iors went to the Young Leaders Conference in Rotorua. Highlights were listening to the funny speak-ers and the games that were played. Joe got a real thrill out of talking

in front of thousands of people while Shem thought the photo booth was fun. The young leaders have learnt the importance of hav-ing big dreams and chasing them, as well as learning to achieve de-spite life’s knocks! Back at school they want to make sure they are effective leaders and set good examples. A special thanks to Mrs Butler and the parents who travelled with this group for the day.

Spare Clothes

With the colder and wetter weath-er upon us, could you please put some spare clothes in your chil-dren’s bags.

Book Order

We’ve got a set of ‘Grandmother’s Household Secrets’ books from Lifetime Distributors here in the staffroom that’s been sitting here for a while. Did someone order this and forgot to pick up?

School Lunches

Here’s the roster for the next cou-ple of weeks: Friday, 13 June: Erin Perrett Friday, 20 June: Nikki Elliott
