A F T E R T H E S E R V I C E TO D AY“The myth, or the tradition, as it is sometimes called, has neccassarily a touch of the imagination, and imagination is almost always, more fascinating than

truth. The historical myth, indeed, would not exist at all if it did not profess to tell something which people for one reason or another, like to believe, and which

appeals strongly to some emotion or passion, and so to human nature.”

Sunday ForumSunday, November 27 - No Forum, Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend

Looking for a way to share your gifts and further the cause of peace and justice this holiday season?Looking for a way to share your gifts and further the cause of peace and justice this holiday season? We invite you to celebrate the work of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, our denomination's faith in action organization, by participating in the Guest at Your Table Program. From Thanksgiving through the December holiday season, thousands of UUs nationwide place Guest at Your Table boxes on their dining tables or other family gathering places and “feed” the box daily with contributions for the work of the Service Committee.

Boxes will be distributed during the service today. Donations made to the UUSC during the Guest at Your Table program will be matched by the UU congregation at Shelter Rock. In addition, Society for Community Work (SCW) has generously offered to match all donations from our congregation up to $1000. So this is a great opportunity to maximize your giving for the work of the UUSC. We invite you to learn more about the UUSC on their website here , to contact Linda Harris for more info at [email protected], or to stop by our Sunday Fair Trade UUSC table to talk with members of our local UUSC team.
