court has affirmed the Commission’s cease and desist order in this matter.
Ms. Anthony also reported that Megan Hudson, AAG is leaving the OAG’s office. Ms. Hudson
advised that she is relocating to the State of Maine and will be working for Legal Aid on behalf
of victims of lead paint poisoning. Chairman Hubert acknowledged Ms. Hudson’s work and the
Commissioners wished her well.
Report from the Chief Legal Counsel
Chief Legal Counsel Stephanie Demers reported that in the spirit of outreach efforts, we have
been receiving a number of requests from county departments of jobs & family services to
conduct civil rights related training for their employees. So far, the requests have come from
Knox, Clark, Allen, Jackson, Wayne, Franklin. Additionally Keith McNeil, Director of Regional
Operations, has received requests from the Department of Veterans Services to do training in
their 11 regions. Ronnell Tomlinson, Director of Housing Enforcement, has been in
communication with the Ohio Department of Commerce, Real Estate Division regarding fair
housing training with an emphasis on animal assistants. So we will be very busy in early 2017
conducting outreach to get out the message to both potential charging parties and respondents.
Ms. Demers also wanted to acknowledge the work of AAG Megan Hudson and to express how
much her presence in our agency will be missed. On behalf of the OCRC, she wishes her well in
Maine and her new endeavors.
Report from Executive Director

for her service and dedication to the agency.

slogans to the Commissioners for a vote. Chairman Hubert commended the staff on taking the
initiative regarding the slogan but recommended that staff go back and examine the purpose of
the slogan and how it is intended to be used.
Director Payton publicly recognized Ronnell Tomlinson for his hard work in conducting
outreach throughout the State of Ohio. Mr. Tomlinson has been very busy partnering with the
Ohio Housing Finance Agency and the Coalition on Homelessness & Housing in Ohio in
conducting seminars and workshops around the state.
