ML2PP Conclusion – Phase F (2015, “today”) • Being fed with first operational MIPAS data, ML2PP converged without problems. This

proved the quality of the algorithm. • Software implementation validation is an important component of the entire MIPAS level 2

product validation chain. But when implementing the optimized resolution mode, the sequential adjustment from the ORM via ML2PP to the IPF delayed the operational ground processing for years.

• The ML2PP eventually turned into an operational processor when the version V6.0 became the designated processor for offline reprocessing activities for the full mission in 2012.

• Today, a rich collection of science and data quality improvements have been implemented that have been elaborated by the QWG members and supporters while analyzing and processing MIPAS data during 10 years of service.

• Fruitful and constructive co-operation between ESA, science and industry took place during the project and the Airbus team thanks everyone for the excellent collaboration.
