1. What competitive forces have challenged the television industry? What problems have these forces?

With high speed internet we can download all kinds of TV shows and video in which we are interested. Many people watch online television shows .These are the difficulties to the television industry.

2. Describe the impact of disruptive technology on the companies discussed in this case.

There will be definitely more and more choose to watch movies and television shows on the Internet because the rate of technology to renew and innovate is so fast that we could not even imagine. For instance, the cloud computing service and cloud sharing platform will enable much more people to upload and download movies and television shows through it in the future.

3. How have the cable programming and delivery companies responded to the Internet?

Like NBC universal, CNN and Fox have their shows on their own website so people can watch and enjoy

On the other hand, some other companies start trial programs are trying on a trial programs. They put some television shows available online, but only for cable subscribers. They want to attract cable subscribers in this way.

4. What people, organization, and technology issues must be addressed to solve the cable industry’s problem?

People: The high authority to television industry tries to update the television shows through innovative way. Television high authority includes Chief executive officers.

For example, they should try to improve their service quality and think about how to attract more subscribers.

Organization: The traditional television companies and those companies that provide free websites for people to share movies and shows are involved. These organizations should try coordinate with each other for not hurting each other

Technology: Newly way and websites of sharing movies, high-speed Internet access, powerful PCs with high-resolution display screens, and IPhones and other mobile handhelds, and leading-edge file-sharing services all make the problems worse. However, maybe we can try to set up a strict law of downing or uploading illegal movies and TV shows online.

5. Have the cable companies found a successful new business model to compete with the Internet? Why or why not?

Yes, cable companies found a way to compete with internet. Cable companies are trying to work with the Internet instead of against it. They make more television shows available online, but it is only for cable

subscribers, put shows on their own websites and create a new files sharing website of their own to increase their competitiveness.

I think they took action for trying to use Internet to compete with it. However, I won’t say whether it is successful because, so far, they are only in the trial program and a lot of different voices from the analysts’ prediction. It’s too early to tell.

6. If more television programs were available online, would you cancel your cable subscription? Why or why not?

Yes we should remove our cable subscription because if more programs are available online then it is better for us only we use internet which instead of cable and our finance
