questions in

a discussion…


…to get

participation

from

everyone,

even the

quiet ones.


We get to

the heart

of the

matter in a

short

time…


…without

getting

bogged down

in arguments

or getting

off topic.



I get

different

perspectives

that

enrich the

discussion.


It’s based on

the way the

brain takes in

information,

makes sense of it,

and moves to action.


I simply ask

questions

in that

sequence

to guide the

conversation.

Often in meetings


That’s one reason discussions circle around and never reach a conclusion.

I ask one or two questions at each of the four levels of thinking.


My questions require a different kind of thinking at each level.


Objective thinking-

That’s why we call it “ORID.”

R level of thinking:

What impact do the space problems have on your work?



I level of thinking:

What considerations and values should we use as we make plans for improvement?

D level of thinking:

What specific next steps do we need to take?
