According to the DPE Guidelines on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability for

Central Public Sector Enterprises introduced in April 2013, the previously separate guidelines

for CSR and SD have been integrated into a single set of guidelines for ‘CSR & Sustainability’.

The revised guidelines make it mandatory for CPSEs to take up at least one major project for

development of a backward district and one project for environment sustainability.

Under the Companies Act 2013, effective from 1st

April 2014, all profitable companies with a

sizeable business would have to spend on CSR works every year at least 2 percent of the average

net profits before tax made by the company during preceding three years.

MMTC’s CSR Policy

MMTC adopted CSR as a policy initiative in Sept. 2006 effective from 2007-08 with the following

objectives:

Strategy:

With a view to making our work under the CSR policy sustainable, the activities are based on

Core Competency, Community and Business Associates having multi-stakeholder approach.

Objectives:

1. To initiate voluntary measures to address economic, social and environmental

concerns.

2. To make CSR a key business process for sustainable development.

3. To be a good Corporate Citizen.

in the education system, and

Education for all is a major

need in the country today. This

is where MMTC’s role as a

grants which are deemed vital

from the context of

sustenance of these NGOs.
