Thank you for the snacks and refreshments. Rob Reck taught us with his usual humor and insight last week, and we look forward to our own David Carpenter this week.

GUESTS: None this week.

FINANCE: Class expenditures: For any requested class expenditure, please contact a member of the Finance Committee: Bob Russell, Jim Embrey, Dave Grim or Karen Campbell (Emeritus) & Jim McCann. Since we have not yet sold the paintings that David Cooley

SOCIALS:Christmas Auction & Dinner: – Friday, December 2, 2016 at Tulsa Country Club, $40 per person (scholarships available). MARANATHA NEEDS YOUR AUCTION DONATION!

Our Annual Christmas Dinner Auction Party is just around the corner.  This gathering raises thousands of dollars used by our class each year to support wonderful ministries and programs that touch lives.

MARANATHA NEWSLETTER5/6/2023

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church Jim McCann, President

You can be a part of this wonderful event by

1. Attending- as was the case last year, tickets are only $40 per person for an outstanding dinner at the Tulsa Country Club.

2. Donate a social event: either by yourself or in partnership with someone else, plan a party and have other class members bid on the opportunity to join in your social activity.

MARANATHA NEWSLETTER5/6/2023

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church Jim McCann, President

3. Donate an item for auction (either live or silent): tickets to a concert, theater or sporting event; timeshare vacation; an art or home decor item; gift certificates for dinner or shopping; a special event like a Spa Day or Respite Services.  Use your imagination and make a donation that will help our class raise funds for next year's important ministries. All offerings of every size are appreciated and enjoyed, from heartfelt (like a plate of luscious brownies or a certificate to clean a class member’s car) to huge (like a party for a group). Please plan to attend this very special night for our class, as it won’t really be festive without YOU there!

2017 Socials!!!: Our new and efficient Social Committee has met and planned out

our social events for 2017. They sound like great fun, so please put these events on your calendar so you don’t miss anything. Also, please make sure in scheduling your Auction offerings that you don’t schedule anything on the same weekend as an official Maranatha social event, as that dilutes the attendance as both events. Thanks so much for your consideration.

CLASS PRAYER REQUESTS (Joys):Please give thanks for the following:

Nikki, daughter-in-law of Judith & Ed Payton had surgery during which the doctors are hopeful they removed all of her cancer. She is healing faster than anyone expected and has a tentative hospital release earlier than anyone who has had this surgery. She and Sarah will still need to stay in Houston for a month as she has daily checkups and treatment at the hospital, but this wonderful result is truly cause for celebration!

MARANATHA NEWSLETTER5/6/2023

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church Jim McCann, President

Pam Low had her recent check up at M.D. Anderson and got an “all clear” on all aspects of her cancer. What a joy!

After bemoaning the previous week that he and Sharon had spent months with no identity, Bruce and Sharon Chucoski were finally provided with official Maranatha nametags!

CLASS PRAYER REQUESTS (Concerns):Please keep the following in your prayers:

MARANATHA NEWSLETTER5/6/2023

Shannon Latchem was headed to M.D. Anderson this week for her checkup following cancer treatment and is hoping to receive an “all clear” just like Pam Low’s.

Mary Bundren was having an important x-ray on her back this week which would determine how the last surgery had progressed and what future treatment might be implicated.

The granddaughter of Glenna Arnott lost her other grandmother this week and is grieving the loss.

MARANATHA NEWSLETTER5/6/2023

Boston Avenue United Methodist Church Jim McCann, President

Bethany Willyard will be having multiple surgeries in the next couple of months to relieve chronic pain in her back.

Please email our Caranatha Chair Carol Grim at [email protected] and copy our President at [email protected] with concerns that need immediate class response or prayer during the week such as accidents, injuries, deaths, etc. For emergencies, please call Carol at (918) 583-5181 (weekday mornings) or (198) 369-6945 (any other time).
