1 Purpose

The mobile tractor-driven compost turner TracTurn 3.7 was exclusively

developed for loosening, aerating, mixing and lateral displacement of

compostable material at the same time.

Due to its unique design, the TracTurn can be used for triangular and

trapezoidal compost windrows.

Due to the lateral displacement of each turning process, the compost

windrow will move about 3 to 5 meters.

So you can combine two windrows to one bigger windrow.

The TracTurn can easily be changed from working mode to transport

mode in less than 10 minutes (including loading time), which makes it

transportable quickly and can be used via hook lift trailer on different

locations and for wage work.

The tractor is used for turning and transportation and can also be used in

other ways, which further increases the efficiency.

1 Function

The compost material is taken from the rotor and transported to the horizontal

conveyor. Due to this process the material is loosened and mixed.

The horizontal conveyor moves the material to the inclined conveyor. So the

material get moved about one pile width to a formed pile. Because of this "free

fall" no unnecessary material compaction is generated. This guarantees the

highest possible air pore volume.

Because the compost is only moved to the horizontal conveyor belt by the rotor,

you need a low rotation speed of the rotor. This will AVOID UNNECESSARY

CRUSHING OF MATERIAL.

Due to the lateral displacement, the windrow moves in every turning process to

the next technical process step on the compost facility (setup windrow �

composting process � screening, movement is always in one direction). So

unnecessary wheel loader ways are avoided - logistics optimisation.

From a hygienic point of view, there is no contact from fresh delivered material

with finish compost - no contamination by the compost turner.

Through the functionality of the compost turner an intensive mixing and

homogenisation of the starting material is done.

Also the longitudinal direction movement of the compost material with other

turning systems is avoided with the TracTurn 3.7.

The cutting chain allows to process triangular windrows (windrows greater than

the width of the compost turner) or trapezoidal windrows. These windrows are

intersected by a circular running chain that is equipped with aggressive tools.

2 Handling

The machine is driven and operated by a tractor.

The rotor and the conveyor belts are driven by the PTO and heavy industry

gearboxes. All (hydraulic) functions are operated from the tractor!

In order to operate the machine properly, the necessary knowledge of the towing

vehicle must particularly be aware of the operator.

4 Tractor requirements

Recommended power: >175 kW

Lifting capacity > 9,500 kg (depending on tractor model, maybe more

required!)

Reverse drive system is recommended but not necessary

12 V (min. 10 A fused) - 3 pin plug

3 double acting hydraulic valves without cutting chain and cooling

system!

5 double-acting hydraulic control and two open returns including cutting

chain and cooling system

One plug (SVK12-2102) with a maximum of 0.5 bar back pressure and a

second plug (SVK-ANV34F) with a maximum of 5 bar back pressure

Ballasting the front, depending on the tractor model, 2 – 2.5 tonnes
