About FDT / DTM

FDT o Field Device Tool: communication interface technology that enables communication between on-site field devices such as pressure sensors or flow meters and a control system, regardless of the communication protocol or the vendor of the field devices (Cross-platform basis)

DTM o Device Type Manager: driver software that is created by the control system vendors and field device vendors for their own products based on this FDT technology • Users can easily connect control systems and sensors from different vendors to build an optimal plant control.

Reduce the Workload in order to make engineering easier in terms of commissioning, diagnosis and maintenance.

Please note:

DD (Device Description) based tools use a different technology. For example:

o PDM (Siemens)

o AMS (Emerson)

Cannot be used with mobiLink directly.
