First things first, I'm going to add some reference images. This Skyscraper is known as theTrump Tower, and is located in Chicago(USA). I wasn't able to find nice top/side/front/back viewarchitectural plans, but these images should do.

You can find some with a quick Google image search.

You would expect me to add a plane, and use a few arrays, but, Gotcha! We're going to be usingcurvesto model this building. Ha! :P

Add a Bzier Curve. (Not sure how it's pronounced)

In edit mode, select the deformed end and hit R 45to straighten it out.

Select both handles (make sure you click the centers),and make them vectors.

Extrude it like a mesh to form sort of a bevelled parallelogram.

Close it off by selecting the two ends and hitting F.

I gave it a subsurf modifier, but you don't have to do this, as it won't change anything.

As you can see in the picture, the building recedes back with steps. You've probably figured outthat we're modeling the outlines of each section. Duplicate the first curve, and in edit mode, set i tback.

Then duplicate it again, and set it back from the other side.

And finally, one last set-back.

Move the curves, so each one is at the top of its section.

Next, go into the second layer, and add a plane (As you probably were expecting).

In edit mode, scale it narrower.

Then, extrude it out with E.

Select the two top edges and scale them apart farther along Y.

The extrusion will leave a large back panel, so select i t and delete it.

Assign the plane some placeholder materials to make a window.

Give the window an array modifier, and turn on merge.

Add a second array, but with the 1 in the Y value.

Move the window back to the first layer, and scale it way down.

Finally, add a Curve Modifier. Set it to the bottom curve.

Crank up the Array count.

If it looks a little weird, move it around until it fits.
