Jewish Immigrants on Ellis IslandThe picture on the left is the original picture from Discovery Education. The picture on the right was modified using Picnik. In this case I used a new camera effect to alter the look of the photo. I also added text and enhanced it using a blend mode and color. The final adjustment I made was to add a frame.

Once again this is the original photograph taken from Discovery Education.

For this picture I used an effect called panography. I adjusted it using a camera effect 1960’s. I then added the text effect difference.

• Allowing students to interact and manipulate media is essential for them to engage in various historical examinations.

• Picnik allows the student to connect with history as well as to put their personal touch on that history

Original photograph chosen because it shows the everyday experience of many recent immigrants.

Here a duo-tone color scheme was used. A Polaroid effect as well as Animal font were also added to the photo.

• First the color was changed. Next, the film grain was altered. The before and after effect was added and finally a label was added.

Cinemascope was applied as was a postage stamp frame.
