Preface

The practical training at the studying level of subjects like PRODUCTIONAND OPERATION MANAGEMENT is helpful to build up the students ability and toget recognizable with factory environment and also to develop practical knowledge in

the different areas of productions, machineries, production equipments, andproduction sector. Theoretical studies give enough background for carrieddevelopment. But practical knowledge has equal contribution in the buildup carrier.

We have visited IDMC LIMITED as part of the 5th module study for getting thepractical knowledge of production sector. Which is Unit for the development andmanufacture of dairy equipment in India as per again given instruction from guide. Ihave a great pleasure in presenting the report of such organization.

As a whole, I have experienced that practical work is entirely different from theclassroom learning. The working environment is far more different. The project reporthas really enhanced my knowledge about production work. I gain lots of knowledgefrom this project report. I hope this will also help me in future.

Therefore with much enthusiasm and hope I am highly pleased to present myunderstanding of all the learning and practical exposure received during our visit atIDMC LTD.

COMPANY DETAILS

IDMC is the largest equipment manufacturing and project engineeringcompany in India in the field of dairy, food, brewery, beverages , pharmaceutical and

biotechnology and refrigeration industries. IDMC is manufacturing equipment forthese industries and also executing projects on turnkey basis.

IDMC turnover in the year 2008-2009 has been over INR 3400 million (approxUSD 74 million).

IDMC is located at Vithal Udyognagar near Anand in the state of Gujarat. It isabout 400Km northeast to Mumbai and 1000 km southwest to Delhi. The nearestAirports are Vadodara (40 km) and Ahmedabad (80 km). The company place is wellconnected with Road and Rail with major centers in India.
