NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL

MONDAY 19TH and TUESDAY 20th DECEMBER Commercial Road Primary School Council have recommended that on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th December students do not attend school so that staff can move any remaining furniture and resources to Morwell Central Primary in readiness for the 2017 school year. Staff have worked tirelessly all year in preparation for our merger to Morwell Central Primary and although most large furniture and items will be moved on Friday 16th whilst students and staff are on our final excursion, staff will need time to un-pack new furniture and prepare Learning Hubs for 2017. If parents do not want to follow the School Council recommendation for not sending their child/ren to school, please contact office staff. We appreciate your understanding and support in this matter and look forward to our new school year in 2017.

GRADUATION TICKETS For parents of grade 6 students who are graduating , Wednesday 7th December is the last day for you to purchase your Graduation tickets. STATEWIDE TRANSITION DAY Statewide Transition day is Tuesday 6th December. All enrolled Preps for 2017 will attend this session at the Performing Arts Centre on McDonald St. All Grade 6 students will attend their High School of choice. They will need to be dropped off and picked up by Parents. No grade 6 student will attend Commercial Rd on this day. SCHOOL MAGAZINE

Our School Magazine is underway again this year. Please fill in form that was attached with last weeks newsletter and return to school with $7.00 by Friday, 9th December to secure your Magazine.

SEMESTER 2 REPORTING Progress report comments for Term 3 and Term 4 can be accessed online through uEducateUs at any time during term 3 and 4. Final end of year reports will be available to view on uEducateUs from Mon-day 14th of December. All reports will be on line and no paper copies will be sent home. Parent and Carer log on details were sent earlier this year. If you have misplaced your log on details please contact the office. To support parents accessing their child’s report we will again have two uEducateUs open sessions on Monday 12th and Thursday 15th December. Parents will be able to come into school between either 8:30am and 10:30am. During these sessions we will help you log onto uEducateUs and assist you to navigate through report comments. A preference selection time went home last week. If you know how to use our on line re-porting system we also have two computers set up for parent use in the Parent Room.

LEADERSHIP DAY AND STATE WIDE TRANSITION

Our 4/5 Leadership Day will be held again this year on Statewide Transition Day, which is the 6th Decem-ber. This will be held at the Performing Arts Centre. Students will be involved in a variety of activities and workshops that will help build their capacity as school leaders. No Grade 6 students will attend school at Commercial Road Primary as they will all go to their high school transition program.

END OF YEAR BEACH TRIP

Notices will be coming home today regarding our end of year trip to the beach. We are changing the destination and it will now be to Cape Patterson due to an area found that has a large grass area and a toilet block that is easily accessible from the beach. There is no charge for this excursion so please sign forms and return to school by Friday 9th December.

LAST ASSEMBLY

Please come along and join us for our last school assembly on Thursday 15th December starting at 2.00pm in the Multi Purpose room.

MORWELL CENTRAL UNIFORM PICK-UP

COMMERCIAL ROAD’S GOT TALENT

There was a buzz of excitement in the air last Monday as our 13th and final ‘Commercial Road’s Got Tal-ent’ began. Relatives, friends and teachers witnessed some amazing talent by all 12 competitors.

This year’s winner was Riley Richardson, 2nd place went to Anita Soghmayan and 3rd place was Nicholas Petesic.

Thank you to Mr Bonnici and Mr Hopkins for bringing sound equipment for us to use and for helping me judge. Thank you to the special guests- Riley and Liam and Scarlett and Miley. Also thank you Gemma Brown and Lucy Bertrand for performing your winning songs from Kurnai Idol. Everyone’s performances were of a high standard and a treat to listen to.

As we have had a lot of uniform orders already arrive for Morwell Central Primary, most can be picked

up from the PAC, McDonald st on Thursday 8th December between 11am-1.00pm. Final payment is re-

quired on the day before collection. Unfortunately uniforms ordered in November will not be available

for pickup until January 25th between 10.00am and 3.00pm. If you are unable to pickup on the 8th you

can also pick up on this day.
