Core sector growth dips to 1.8% in November

The combined output of eight key infrastructure sectors fell to 1.8%

in November, from 7.8% in the same month last year and 6.5% in

October, due to drop in production of coal, natural gas and cement.

External debt rises 5.8% in April-September to $365.3 billion

India's external debt increased by 5.8% in April-September to

$365.3 billion due to increase in non-resident deposits, short-term

debt and commercial borrowings by companies.

White House, Senate reach fiscal-cliff deal

The White House and Senate Republicans have reached a deal to

avoid the fiscal cliff, multiple reports said Monday night, just hours

ahead of a midnight deadline. The deal -- which would need to be

approved by both chambers of Congress -- would reportedly delayacross-the-board spending cuts by two months in addition to raising

taxes on incomes of $450,000 and above.

Greek Retail Sales Fall For Fourteenth Month

October. Retail sales volume, excluding automotive fuel, fell at a faster

pace of 16.8 percent year-on-year in October than 11.8 percent in

    September.
