D ear children! “ Today I am calling you to profoundly live your faith and to implore the Most

High to strengthen it, so that winds and storms cannot break it. May the roots of your faith be prayer and hope in eternal life. Already now, little children, work on yourselves in this time of grace, wherein God is giving

you the grace - through renunciation and the call to conversion - to be people of clear and persevering faith and hope. Thank you for having responded to my call . ”

In his "CREDO" of the people of God, Pope Paul VI, suggested regularly praying the Apostles Creed, daily in order to strengthen the gift of Faith. This is good practise, especially when Mary says ‘the winds and storms threaten it.’ Let us reflect on the Gospel - The calming of the storm. When the tempest has subsided, Jesus says, "Why were you so afraid, you men of little Faith" ( Matt 8:26 ) The word "Credo” comes from two words, "cor" & "dare" meaning to "give one’s heart" This is the fundamental meaning of Faith and of believing. Whilst our knowledge is important for our Faith, Faith still primarily concerns the opening of one's heart. Faith means, loving, giving and trusting because the one who believes also stands

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Medjugorje North East and beyond, In this month's message Mary begins by asking that ‘we profoundly live our Faith and to implore the Most High to strengthen it, so that the winds and storms cannot break it’ We must protect our Faith from becoming superficial and worldly. Faith can become conditioned by the contagion of unbelief and worldliness and modernism that Mary taught in last month's message. On one occasion the Apostles said to Jesus, "Lord, increase our Faith." This too is what Mary asks of us. ‘To implore the Most High to strengthen your Faith’. Let us make the same request to Jesus, "Lord, increase our Faith," so that we live our Faith from a profound level of our being.

firm. To stand firm in God is the profound level deep within that Mary invites us to live our Faith from. The storms and winds cannot break the Faith of one who is offering their heart to the Lord. "Lift up your hearts." When we look at Mary's life then we know that she placed God in the first place, and she tells us to do the same through her messages. Placing God in the first place in our lives really means to be in God, in his light, life, in his love and mercy. Here we discover the connection between conversion and Faith, because conversion means the path that always goes deeper into Faith, into God. Let us pray for the grace of Faith. Let us not forget that the first prayer Mary prayed with the visionaries was the beginning of the Creed. " I believe in God." her first words were, God Exists. The path Mary points out to the world is the path of Faith, which means deciding for God. ‘The root of Faith is Prayer and Hope in eternal life.’ Let us remember the roots of our faith. Those people who taught us how to Pray, who showed us how to encounter the Lord, those people who witnessed the Love of God to us. Those people whose lives reflected Faith and hope in eternal Life. To live Faith and life in the light of eternity is the message for all of us. when we know in the heart that death does not have the last word, that light is stronger than darkness, then we taste a little bit of heaven now, through the gift of Faith. Mary calls us to work on ourselves. At the beginning of the apparitions our Lady said that She had come so

that we can begin to work on our hearts. So too she repeats this again this month. ‘Work on yourselves and walk the path of renunciation and conversion’. Many have understood that we are in a special time in which we are living. Mary is our Mother and Teacher, who calls us to be people of ‘clear and persevering Faith and Hope’ Let us Pray........

God our Father, we thank you for this special time of Grace, when you call us to work on ourselves, through Mary Queen of Peace.

Send us your Holy Spirit that we may truly walk the path of

conversion and renunciation, that the gift of Faith will be a clear light, which guides us along the

pilgrim journey of life. Thank you for calling us your children,

Thank you for sending us Jesus your Son, who gave his life for

truth out of love. Lord, Increase our Faith.

Our Lady’s message to Mirjana 2nd February 2017

“Dear children! you who are striving to offer every day of your life to my Son, you who are trying to live with Him, you who are praying and sacrificing - you are hope in this peaceless world. You are rays of the light of my Son, a living gospel, and you are my beloved apostles of love. My Son is with you. He is with those who think of Him - those who pray. But in the same way, He is patiently waiting for those who do not know Him. Therefore, you, apostles of my love, pray with the heart and with your works show the love of my Son. This is the only hope for you, and this is also the only way to

eternal life. I, as a Mother, I am here with you. Your prayers directed to me are the most beautiful roses of love for me. I cannot but be where I sense the scent of roses. There is hope. Thank you.”

A VISION OF THREE FLOWERS Medjugorje Council of Ireland

30 November 2016 · One day during prayer, Marija was shown a vision of a flower but in each vision the flower was in a different state. At first it was beautiful, fresh, colourful and in the second vision the flower was withering and had lost its beauty. During the third vision, drops of water began to fall on the flower and immediately it regained its freshness, beauty and radiance. Marija didn’t understand the meaning of this vision, so during one of her apparitions she asked Our Lady what it meant. Our Lady smiled and said: Your heart is like that flower. Every heart is beautiful because it is God’s creation, like the first flower. When in sin the flower fades and the beauty dulls and it begins to droop like the second flower. The water that fell on the third flower represents the Sacrament of Confession. With the Lord’s love and mercy in confession the soul is cleansed of its sins and it becomes radiant and regains its beauty and is revived again. We thank you Lord for your mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and we ask for your grace to be truly humble and contrite in confessing our sins. AMEN

that Archbishop Hoser's mission is a matter of the "people's needs." He further explained that studying the "pastoral needs" of the people means the "pastoral life, liturgy, catechesis, sacraments and the experience of devotion they have there," but not the management of local parishes. He said: "This is more 'for' than 'against'. It's for the life of the pilgrims who go there."

This study will certainly lead to suggestions for possible pastoral initiatives in the future. The mission will therefore have an exclusively pastoral character. Archbishop Hoser, who will continue to exercise his role as bishop of Warsaw-Praga, is expected to finish his mandate as Special Envoy by summer of this year. Let us pray fervently and with confidence for this special envoy, and in the coming summer we will see what fruits this mission will have brought. I rely a great deal on these words that Vicka often repeats: "The Gospa will fulfil her plan!" Now, we

2. The Vatican Sending an Envoy to Medjugorje! On February 11, 2017, on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Holy Father entrusted Archbishop Henryk Hoser, S.A.C., Bishop of Warsaw-Prague (Poland), to come to Medjugorje as a Special Envoy of the Holy See. The mission has the aim of acquiring a deeper knowledge of the pastoral situation in Medjugorje, and above all to assess the needs of the faithful who travel here on pilgrimage. Cardinal Burke, the press officer appointed to the Holy See, noted

can either delay or hasten this plan. Each month, Our Lady thanks those who respond to her call, she counts on them, the "Apostles of my love", to shorten the time of trials, and hasten the triumph of her Immaculate Heart. 3. The Gospa a superstar? New confusion regarding Medjugorje has recently emerged in many media outlets. Let us remain calm and vigilant. Journalists often like to create scoops in order to draw attention, without any real concern for the truth. Taking a word out of context is called manipulation, and it is misleading for the reader! The fact is that there people (maybe with good intentions) who send messages to Pope Francis everyday saying that they are from a so-called virgin. In this case, we can understand his negative reaction to fake messages bombarding him. But we take note of the fact that he said nothing about Our Lady of Medjugorje. On the contrary, the so-called virgin that he describes does not at all resemble Our Lady in Medjugorje in three particular ways: a.) According to reports these fake messages come every day. In fact, the Gospa in Medjugorje only gives a message on the 25th and the 2nd of every month; b.) It was suggested that this fake virgin focuses on herself. Instead, in Medjugorje, Our Lady invites us to put God in the first place in our lives by participating in Mass, going to Confession, praying with the heart

and adoring the Blessed Sacrament, reading the Bible daily, and fasting on bread and water Wednesday and Friday; c.) The virgin spoken about in recent media is known as a superstar to her apostles. Pilgrims coming to Medjugorje would never think of making the Gospa a superstar, she is someone who reorients us to the love of her Son. So, just like in battleship - hit and sunk! Let's put an end to that controversy! 4. Good news! My latest book is finally out in French. The English will be out soon. The book is called "Scandaleuse Misericorde." Father Jacques Philippe, CdB, wrote the preface. Here I would like to give a snippet from the book and then quote a few excerpts from Fr. Jacques Philippe that shine a beautiful light on forgiveness. "How can I stand the rest of my life as an invalid in this wing?" he asked himself. A terrible heaviness came over him. The seeds of depression were planted. Night after night Father John felt increasingly distressed, and feelings of despair took hold of him. There he was, confined to his bed with nothing to do, with no hope of getting better. It was he, the tireless and active worker par excellence. What a contrast with his former life of activity and meeting acquaintances! Struggling with his solitude, and with a terrible feeling of powerlessness, he cried out to the

Lord every day: "Help! Help!"...

...Suddenly, he heard the voice of Christ, who asked him: "My son, how old am I?" Father John replied, "Lord, You're 33 years old!" "And you?" Jesus asked. "I'm 50," Fr. John answered. Then the Lord continued: "Why haven't you ever thanked Me? I gave you 18 more years to live. At 33 I had already died." "Yes, Lord. I'm sorry. Forgive me for never having appreciated these extra 18 years of life You gave me." "You have spoken well about me John, but you do not know me. Taste Me." (Father John reported that Jesus stressed the words 'Taste Me'.) "Lord, what do You mean by telling me this?" "My son, I didn't consecrate you to be a worker. I didn't consecrate you to be an administrator. I consecrated you to be ME. Be Me!" Father John was dumbfounded when he heard the way Jesus said "Be Me!" Jesus added: "While I was suffering, I felt abandoned, rejected, condemned,

and nailed. It was a very painful situation. Now, you know." ...Father John understood a reality that concerns all of us. Before, he was performing one thousand and one works for God, where prayer was dangerously missing. Through his dereliction of a handicapped person, the Lord made him understand that He was expecting from His priest that he would perform the works OF God, rather than FOR God. That is to say, the works that God Himself had prepared for him to realize according to his Divine design. From Fr. Jacques Philippe: "This book gives us an opportunity, through a diversity of stories, to see mercy at work in a living and personal way. Mercy is not an abstract idea, it is a reality that has deeply changed and transformed the lives of so many people. The various chapters illustrate how God's benevolent and gratuitous love can burst forth in a human existence and, where sometimes all seemed lost, lead to true resurrections. The strength of this book does not come from speeches, but from living testimonies... "We love freedom. And yet, somewhat surprisingly, our world does not fully understand the liberating force of forgiveness. We aspire to freedom, but don't always do what is necessary to achieve it! To be truly free, we must forgive. As long as I haven't forgiven someone who has hurt me, I will be stuck in my past, and will remain dependent on this enemy whom I blame and

toward whom I feel anger and bitterness. The grudge will take a place in my heart which will prevent me from being free and living to the full. Forgiveness is sometimes difficult; it may seem impossible. Forgiveness is a grace that must be begged for humbly in prayer, and sometimes it takes a lot of time to get there. However, it is absolutely necessary. Whoever does not forgive will never heal completely from the wrong he has suffered and from the wounds that have been inflicted on him. "In modern society, we take great care of people who have been victims, supporting them, enabling them to express their pain, to shed light on their suffering, to ensure that they also find the truth and justice to which they are entitled. This is a good thing. However, perhaps we sometimes forget to convey to the victims that they cannot completely recover from their past unless they decide, one day, to forgive. This is not a natural decision to make, it takes courage, but it is necessary in order to find peace, healing and freedom. "The ultimate source of all forgiveness is in God, in the infinitely merciful heart of the Father." Dearest Gospa, what patience you have with us. Do not get tired of us. Please continue to visit us! What would we do without you? Those who reject you would joyfully welcome you if only they knew you.

The custom of saying the Angelus three times at noon and at six in the evening goes back to the thirteenth century. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary and she conceived by the Holy Spirit. Pray for us O holy Mother of God That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray.

Pope Francis has appointed his “special envoy” to Medjugorje, but not to make any further investigations into the Marian apparitions that some sections of the Italian media is reporting. A statement from the Vatican press office advises that the Holy Father has mandated Henryk Hoser (pictured), Archbishop of Warsaw-Prague (Poland) “to go to Medjugorje as a special envoy of the Holy See”. “The mission aims to acquire more in-depth knowledge of the pastoral situation of that reality and, above all, the needs of the faithful who go there on a pilgrimage... The mission will, therefore, be of a purely pastoral character.” Writing for Vatican Insider, Andreas Tornielli commented: “With the appointment today confirms the attitude of Pope Francis towards these phenomena. Although he has repeatedly warned against morbid attention to the ‘messages’ and the ‘secrets’ attributed to Our Lady, which in some cases ends up diverting some of the faithful from the heart of the Gospel message, Bergoglio shows great respect for what goes on in these places.” This from Vatican Radio: On Saturday, Pope Francis named Archbishop Henryk Hoser, S.A.C., the Bishop of Warszawa-Praga, as a Special Envoy of the Holy See to

The scope of his mission, according to the press release announcing the appointment, is “to acquire a profound understanding of the pastoral situation” in Medjugorje, with special concern for the “needs of the faithful who come on pilgrimage;” and on the basis of that understanding “to suggest possible pastoral initiatives for the future.”

It was put to the Archbishop that John Paul II harboured good feelings towards Medjugorje. Msgr Hoser responded: “He was devoted to the Virgin Mary in general, including that of Medjugorje. It’s not a bad thing.” Archbishop Hoser is noted for his defence and promotion of family values and confirmed the Virgin’s role in this. “It’s true. It’s very important to invoke Mary for the protection of the family, formed by a man and a woman united by the sacrament of marriage. At Medjugorje we find the Rosary, Eucharistic adoration, fasting and penance are present, and these encourage the development of faith. Asked about the ‘fruits’ of Medjugorje the “special envoy” reiterated that his role is confined to pastoral issues and not doctrine, “not to the issue of truthfulness”. He added, “With regard to the fruit in souls, I find positive. By fruits I mean the practice of the sacraments, conversions, change of life, participation in the Mass. This is what happens at Medjugorje – we cannot deny it or do without it pastorally.” Asked about his recent recovery from maleria and the rumour that he had prayed to Our Lady of Medjugorje, Archbishop Hoser responded: “I contracted maleria in Africa. I have prayed to the Virgin. I believe in Mary, in all her manifestations.”

Following his appointment as the Holy Father’s “special envoy” to Medjugorje, Archbishop Henryk Hoser has given a short interview to the Italian website La Fede Quotidiana. He was asked if he had expected his commission and replied that he didn’t know the reason why Pope Francis assigned him the post. “Of course, I am grateful,” he continued “I will give it all my comittment. The mission does not alarm me.” Questioned about being defined a ‘conservative’ Bishop Msgr Hoser said, “I do not define myself in that way. Rather, I am a man of the Church who seeks to be faithful to the Word, to doctrine and tradition, to all the documents. If this means ‘conservative’, then I’m conservative.” The Polish prelate then agreed that the people of Poland generally nourish a positive feeling towards Medjugorje and added: “The Catholics of this nation, which is deeply Marian, have a positive view about Medjugorje and a lot of them go there, as from other nations, so this means something. But I will not deal with theological aspects or apparitions, only with the Pontifical commission. My task is pastoral.” And the seers? “For me they are neither a problem or the problem. I repeat, they are not part of my commission.”

Mary a Former committee member of Medjugorje North East and well known and loved Parishioner of St. Wilfrid’s, Bishop Auckland, was a devout follower of Our Lady of Medjugorje while supporting her Parish Priest the Late Fr. Ciaran McDonnel at St. Wilfred’s Church Bishop Auckland. Mary a prayerful lady never failed to support the many Afternoons of prayers, Pilgrimages to Medjugorje and Weekend Retreats to Minsteracres. Along with Many good friends Jack Moran, Milo, Paul, Eileen, Shirley & Rita to name just a few. We will never forget Mary’s Love & commitment. Mary’s Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Wilfrids Church Bishop Auckland on Thursday 2nd March 12pm. Eternal Rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her May she rest in Peace Amen.

Darryl Timothy BACH star of Apparition Hill

Darryl Timothy Bach, Aged 52, of Glace Bay, NS Canada We are sad to announce the death of Darren Bach, November 22, 2016 after a long battle with ALS(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). In the last few years Darryl’s Catholic faith grew and became very strong. He travelled to Medjugorje twice. The first time he was involved in the filming of Sean Bloomfields ‘Apparition Hill.’. The second time he returned to see the premiere of this movie and for a reunion with the others members of the film cast. He was very proud and honoured to be involved in this project. Darryl’s strong faith inspired many people. Darryl is survived by his loving wife, Sheena and daughters. Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him May he rest in peace. Amen

Slavko which has gradually developed and now more than 50,000 youth and 400 Priests from across the world gather together. FRANCISCO. On the centenary of the apparitions at Fatima the statue and relics came to Westminster Cathedral on Saturday, 18 February with Mass and prayers from 2pm celebrated by Cardinal Vincent Nichols.
