A Christmas-themed Google survey was emailed to Middle School and High School stu-dents. Of the thirty-four who responded, 91% said they have an artificial Christmas tree. More responses are listed below. Those who participated were entered in a drawing and the winner was Seth Schaper. Look for the next survey in your email for your chance to win. The November students of the month have been selected by a vote of the faculty. The elemen-tary students are Wryker Holmes and Trapper Johnson, the middle school student is Camryn Etzel and the high school students are Daniel Windle and William Robison.
Elementary Wryker Holmes is in 1st grade. He lives with his aunt and uncle, Anthony and Amber Puckett. His fa-vorite subject is reading be-cause it is good. His heroes are cops. Outside of school, Wryker’s favorite things to do are to play basketball and watch movies. When he grows up he wants to be-come a cop and firefighter. Trapper Johnson is in 5th grade and is the son of Brandon and Misty John-son. His favorite subject is reading because he likes to read. His role model is Jesus. Trapper’s favorite thing to do outside of school is watch
Netflix. When he grows up he wants to be a police lab guy.
Middle School
Camryn Etzel is in 6th grade; her parents are Jason and Tracy Etzel. Her favorite subject is Math because it is easy and fun. When she is not at school, she likes to go to the lake. She plays softball, basketball, and track. When she gets to high school she is looking forward to taking computer classes. Camryn’s future goals are to go to college and become an Orthopedic Doctor.
High School Daniel Windle is a sophomore
and is the son of Chris and Lenny Windle. He is involved in Art Club, TSA, NHS, FCA , and Archery. Daniel also plays football, basketball, and base-ball. His biggest inspiration is Michael Jordan. He plans to become an aerospace engineer. William Robison is a senior; his parents are Ryan and Melissa Robison. His favor-ite subject is mythology be-cause he loves the stories. He is a member of the foot-ball team. His biggest inspi-ration is his friend Crissy. His future plans are to go to OSU IT or Tri-County Tech to pursue his certifica-tion in computer net work-ing and repair.

The December students of the month have been selected by a vote of the faculty. The ele-mentary students are Ben Hitz and Katie Wright, the middle school student is Gage Miller and the high school students are Aubrie Lester and Jaci Clinton.
Elementary Ben Hitz is in 2nd grade; his parents are Corey and Brandy Hitz. Ben’s favorite subject is Math. He says it’s easy and fun to learn. Ben’s role models are Jesus and his mom and dad. Outside of school, his favorite things to do are to play Fortnite and play basket-ball. When he grows up, Ben wants to become a pro basket-
ball player and a police officer. Katie Wright is in the 5th grade. Her favorite subject is Art. She says she enjoys this subject because it teaches her about things that happened long ago and paintings that were painted long ago. Katie’s role model is her sister. Out-side of school, she likes to play with her animals. When she grows up, Katie wants to be-come a vet.
Middle School Gage Miller is in the 8th grade and is the son of Gala Miller. Gage’s favorite subject is Math because he enjoys problem solving. His extra-curricular activities include Quiz Bowl
captain and TSA President. He also plays football, basket-ball and baseball. When he gets to high school, Gage is looking forward to taking Ge-ometry and Calculus. His fu-ture goals are to attend college and major in something Math or science related.
High School Aubrie Lester is a freshman; she is the daughter of Troy and Mandy Lester. Ag is her favorite subject because she really enjoys showing livestock, cattle grading and judging. Aubrie is involved in FFA and BPA. She says her dad is her biggest inspiration. After high school, Aubrie plans to be-come a physical therapist. Jacie Clinton is a junior; her parents are Danny and Kelli Clinton. Jacie’s favorite sub-ject is science because she likes to learn new things. Her extra-curricular activities include BPA Vice President, NHS and Art Club. Jaci also plays fast-pitch softball, runs cross coun-try and does track. Gary Ice is Jaci’s biggest inspiration. Her future plans include going to college and starting her own life.

The 5th grade team hosted the District Quiz Bowl Tournament on December 4. Welch played three rounds against Oklahoma Un-ion. Welch ended up 1-2. Both teams will ad-vance to the regional tournament on January 19 at Chelsea.

for competition time. BPA president Addey Small was chosen to be the nominee for the Business Division for Oklahoma Career Tech for the Presidential Scholar Award. If she is
chosen, she will have the chance to travel to Washington D.C to represent Oklahoma. BPA also sponsored an angel tree gift. The group got to spend an evening together shop-ping and eating out.
The members of BPA have been busy so far this year. The spring State Leadership Con-ference and Competi-tion is March 11 - 13. Everyone is preparing for their competitions and waiting patiently

With December arriv-ing, many people have been working on the FFA Christmas float. Our FFA Chapter par-ticipated in the Blue-jacket Christmas parade and the Welch Christ-mas parade on Decem-ber 1st. However, be-sides the Christmas pa-rade, many other activi-ties have been going on as well. Kaylee Johnson and Ethan Costerisan attended the Made For Excellence (MFE) Lead-ership Conference on Saturday, December 1st and returned from rep-resenting their FFA Chapter on Sunday, December 2nd. When competing at the Open-ing Ceremonies/Greenhand quiz contest on October 16, the 8th
grade competitive Creed team placed third overall. Taking place in Miami, Oklahoma on October 27 at the Cole-man Theatre, Landry Layton starred as Jud Fry in the musical Ok-lahoma! in a joined school production in-volving Vinita FFA, Ketchum FFA and Ketchum Show Choir. Welch FFA’s December activities include: the Tulsa Farm Show trip on December 6th, OYE pig nominations are due on December 16th and for anyone who is exhibiting livestock at the county fair, spring livestock show check-ins will be December 15th in Vinita and in Welch on December 19th.

Junior High Update: The junior high Boys team is currently 5-2 with wins over Bluejacket, Afton (twice), Wyandotte, and Fairland. “The boys are improving each practice in running plays and switch-ing defenses.”- Coach Bates. High School Boys- The Cats are 0-3 with losses to Fairland 42-27, Colcord 40-25, and Nowata 51-17. Fairland was close for the first half before they ex-tended the lead in the 3rd
as players get experience. Practices have been pro-ductive and the kids are improving in various ways.”- Coach Bates Girls Team: Coach Good-win- “We are continuing to work hard and improve each day in practice. Once we get a few more games under our belt, I will have a better idea on what areas we will need to spend more time on in improv-ing.”
