What is Health Informatics ?
• HEALTH INFORMATICS (HI) - the knowledge, skills and tools that enable information to be collected, managed, used and shared to support the delivery of healthcare and to promote health [and wellbeing]
• HI can be in or for the NHS and other care providers, commercial solution providers and in research and teaching

Treatment and care may be at risk without Health Informatics!
• Information is needed to make decisions on care and treatment for patients and on managing health as a business
• Patient safety relies on the right information being available to appropriate authorised professionals as and when required
• …. Health informatics plays a part in effective, efficient and efficacious service delivery
• Learn more about it, look at our website

What can I study?
• Post-Graduate Certificate (1 year), Diploma (2) or Masters (3 years)
• A Foundation Degree (2 years) and BSc top-up year• Modular University Certificates in HI at various levels
(1 semester)• Applicants can also enter through an experiential
route with no first degree, subject to informal interview
• All study is suitable for satisfying continuing professional development for Agenda for Change and ‘fitness to practice’ registration, such as UKCHIP

How can I study?
• Study is by a mix of e-learning, work-based assignments and periodic tutorials
• Blended learning allows you to study when and where you want (within reason!) to take allowances for work schedules, family commitments and the odd unmissable football match!
• Previous successful students are from ‘Canada to Cuerden’; work in care provider organisations, as commercial partners or at a strategic level in all the home countries
