EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Yaama

Term 4 has started off with a very busy start and will not be slowing down anytime soon. We almost have the full use of our new facilities including the community hub. Moree East Public School is now in a position to engage and work in partnership with service providers and community groups that can provide services for our students and their families on our school grounds. Over the past four weeks the school has hosted a group of pre-service teachers from South Western Sydney University, a Power to Dream Beauty workshop and Moree’s Breast Cancer morning tea. The school also had a surprise visit from South Sydney Rugby League player, Cody Walker. Only just last week the school also had the honour of hosting the Minister for Education, Mr Adrian Piccoli; Mr Mark Scott AO, Secretary, Department of Education; Mr Andrew Stevenson, Deputy Chief of Staff; Ms Leah Anderson, Departmental Liaison Officer; Ms Dail McGilchrist, Executive Director, Learning and Teaching; Dr Pasi Sahlberg, NSW Education Symposium guest; Mr Adam Marshall MP, Member for Northern Tablelands.

The Moree East Public School Reference Group led the consultative process for our uniquely designed school that is truly reflective the Connected Communities strategy. The schools partnership, over the past four years, with Moree Aboriginal Education Consultative Group in particular the Presidents who have chaired the Group, Mr Craig Duncan and Mr Lloyd Munro has been highly valued by Moree East Public School. I would therefore like to sincerely thank Craig and Lloyd for their commitment to Aboriginal Education and to the Moree East Public School community.
