Edibles are the most popular way to get high, with 34% of Americans saying they are at least somewhat interested in using marijuana through food products.
Why smoke? Among users, 71% say they use marijuana to relax – the most popular reason. Furthermore, 46% say they use marijuana to sleep.
If marijuana was legally available to purchase online, 36% of millennials say they would be interested in taking advantage (notably more than older generations).
MethodologyMorning Consult conducted this poll online from July 17-18, 2018 among a national sample of 2,201 adults (21+). Morning Consult weighted the data to approximate a target sample of adults based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
