UM TO NUM TO N Photo Review
“The sun never knew how great it was until it
hit the side of a building”
Light is the life line of photography and to bring out the detail in
the shot one has to understand the light and shadow well to
make the picture look more and more interesting.
The monument has a very intricate details and to do justice to
those details the photographer has to wait for the perfect light
to fall on it and make the best out of it.
The little tint of yellow tone giving a natural warm feeling to
eyes. Geometric shapes plays a very huge role in making a shot
more dynamic. The way this shot has been composed if you
looka at the shapes for eg circle at the top arc at the center and
the beautiful design details on the wall all these small elements
are enough to freeze the viewer attention. Nothing in this frame
is out of the zone everything is falling at its place.
The best part of the frame which can't be avoided is the tip of
the tomb is perfectly aligned with the center of the arc of the
gate.
IIP FREEDOM photography competition held ... All liberty to click
Photo:Vaibhav Jeet
It's often the issue that we need not follow the rules or any tip but free our mind to just capture. IIP students were free to experiment with camera to get more innovative and artistic shots on the independence day of our country. The outcome was only bounded by imagination.
IIP had given the opportunity to its students to create something out of nothing with just a click of the camera. So IIP academy held a Photography competition called “FREEDOM” on 15th of August. Students were out holding the cameras and thoughts only and they were back with the loads of vision.
The day was marked with superb experience for IIP students. Free clicks were entertained with the right blend of photography tips and techniques. It was hard to measure the
stcapacity of its students and announce the 1 prize winner.stThough at the end, Vaibhav Jeet was declared the 1 prize winner. At the time of
award taking, Vaibhav Jeet was unable to hide his excitement and sentiments. On asking about his awarded photography he said “When we see our national flag we forget all the troubles, problems, tension etc. At the time a sense of pride enters in the heart and we smell the taste of free and independent India.”

“There are no rule for good photographs, There are only good photographs”The whole universe is filled with colors and we see colors everywhere. To make picture impactful. Colors play a very vital role. The whole frame is dominated by the color green . And in street photography we have to be very Precise while composing the shots like how much to include in frame and how much to let it go Because in street we don't have the control to fine tune the elements surrounding your subject. The only mantra to get the best shot is to have patience and wait for the right moment. Like for example this frame
without the lady is monotonous she is breaking the monotonous and Making the frame interesting. The purple color is complementing the green color.
This month. That Year
Photographer Imogen Cunningham opens her first portrait
studio in Seattle in September 1910.
In September 1910, the photographer Imogen Cunningham
(1883-1976) opens her first portrait studio at 1117 Terry
Avenue on Seattle's First Hill.
In 1905, she began taking photographs, developing and
printing the images in a darkroom her father had constructed
for her in a shed behind the house. As a chemistry major at the
University of Washington (no art degree was available at the
time), Cunningham undertook her first photographic
experiments in the wilds surrounding her home and on the
University of Washington campus. She graduated with honors
in 1907. She then went to work in the photographic studio of
Edward S. Curtis, the eminent photo-documentarian of Native
Americans and their lives.
Upon her return to Seattle in September 1910, Cunningham
established her commercial portrait studio at 1117 Terry on
Seattle's First Hill. The small basement space was furnished in
Bohemian comfort with deep blue velvet draperies covering
the walls, and was designed to put sitters at ease. It served
Cunningham as both home and studio. Imogen also
photographed customers in their own homes, traveling by
streetcar and carrying her equipment in a wicker case.
An image titled "The Bather," one of Cunningham's nude
studies of her husband taken on Mt. Rainier, was printed in the
Town Crier, a Seattle publication that featured arts and culture.
Cunningham's male and female nudes titled "Reflections" and
"Eve Repentant" appeared in the December 1915 issue of the
Town Crier and scandalized Seattle society. Imogen
Cunningham was one of the first female photographers to
exhibit male nudes, following the lead of California
photographer Anne Brigman (1869-1950).
Photo Review
“A good photograph is knowing where to stand”India is a land of so many different religion, language after so many contrast in belief and thoughts And as a artist we are so lucky we get endless subjects to work on. In this frame the artist has tried to Frame two different religion creatively. The frame has been divided into two parts with huge contrast i.e the foreground of the frame is in dark Tone and the background of the frame is in lighter tone with little vibrant colours. Idol of the god which is the center
of interest in the frame so the direction of it is pointing at the right Side which is leading to the person with the skull cap who is soft focus. The artist has succeeded in freezing the viewer attention in the center of the frame. It's very important For the photographer to compose or frame his shot in a way so that the story or idea is clear to his Audience.
“A picture is worth thousand words” Photography is all about how well composed a picture is and how well all element of photography has been incorporated in it. Black and white photography has its own. Charm which can't be expressed in words it can only be felt by the eyes of the viewers. The photography is all about timing if you missed it the whole moment is lost so if we talk about the Timing in this frame. If the photographer had failed to place the person in the center of the arc then he
would had lost the charm of the frame because that the center of the interest in the whole frame. The frame has all the tones which black and white photography demands. The best part is that the lines are perfectly straight in the frame which the interior or architecture Photography demands first. The benefits of composing the frame at the eye level is the viewer get connected easily. The repetition of pattern on the floor is leading the viewer eye till the center of the interest.Little touch of reflection is adding dramatic effect to the frame. Along with the pattern on the floor the lines on the wall on the both sides are also leading the eyes till The end.

A smile can make picture beautiful and a beautiful picture brings smile to many faces. They are associated so the IIP and Smile Foundation. In association with smile foundation and siffcy film festival IIP had organized photography workshop at ME Centre RASTA, Ghaziabad Centre and Maxvision Education Centre, Dharam Colony, Near Sombazar, Ashok Vihar-III, Gurgaon.
Smile Foundation is to empower underprivileged children, youth and women through relevant education, innovative healthcare and market-focused livelihood programmes. IIP adore their contribution to the society so it planned a photography workshop for under privileged children in addition to their contribution.
It was the inventiveness and simplicity of the idea that instigated IIP to take this forward and organize the photography workshop. A brilliant and ex-student of IIP academy among others took the responsibility on his shoulders responding to under privileged children of 9th and 10th standard at smile foundation. Children attended photography workshop with great enthusiasm and zeal. They were taught the basic photography rules and tips for how creative output comes which they used smartly on next day of the workshop.
Mission was fulfilled when IIP academy spread smile on their enthusiastic faces.

IIP Classroom of Dual Diploma Photography Course (DDPC) - Seminar on Visual Thinking...
The iconic thought and idea always come when you constantly think
over it and IIP did this successfully. With its constant endeavor to
educate and elevate its students to much higher level, IIP launched a
new course “International Workshop” this year, in terms of taking its
student's portfolio to international level. The decision was made after
using many researches and studies.
The emergence of new short term course, the rise of your approach, the
development of new international activities, and a diminishing interest
from students, IIP launched a new short term course to promote the
proper understanding of an international level photography technique.
But for this no need to go abroad as IIP academy has brought the skill
from there only. Now students of IIP academy will learn the
international photography sense by Namisha Raj, a product of
International Center of Photography, New York, a photographer by
profession and now a faculty and mentor of IIP Academy. Namisha is a
regular contributor to various NGOs like Catalyst Network, Lincoln
Center, Art Expo and many more.
New Launch of IIP, A new beginning towards global approach

Perhaps a brand’s idea responding to a developed company, to the evolving inclusiveness of
IIP Academy, to the significance of photography sense, and to the increasing demand of the
day, IIP organized a corporate photography workshop for the employees of Snapdeal at
Gurgaon.
The two days’ workshop was successfully run by an International Faculty & amp; Mentor of
IIP Academy, Namisha Raj. Namisha is a regular contributor to various NGOs in New York like
Catalyst Network, Opera Theater of Montclair, Lincoln Center and many more. In India
Namisha Raj uses photographs to document social political issues.
Two days’ Corporate Photography Workshop was named “Photoholics”. During the
workshop employees were parted into two batches and each batch had 15 members in it.
The study of basic photography and Innovative clicks brought to them by IIP academy. On the
1st day of workshop they were taught the basic techniques of photography like right
selection of camera, the meaning of photography, science of light in photography etc. and
2nd day was for the practical outdoor shoot only, which was reviewed by IIP faculty at the
end of the day.
“It was such an amazing experience I had ever!” Rajiv, one of the snapdeal employees
attended IIP photography workshop, exclaimed. In addition to his excitement he said

IIP Celebrated the Festival of Light … Diwali
Beyond celebration Diwali is a day to light the life of others, not the light of candles or the firecrackers but the glitter we see and the sense we feel in light. IIP, with the same gesture celebrated Diwali on 30th Oct this year. It was a simple celebration with a row of candles and diyas, decoration inside and outside, rangoli on doorsteps, IIP invited Goddess Lakshmi on this special festive day. Beyond worship, board of the directors, IIP had shared happy moments with the team IIP, students, staff, friends and family.Although there are many stories behind Diwali and the way to celebrate varies but the essence is same. Diwali represents the victory over iniquity and light over darkness. IIP represents the same over the years.
