Hands-on Training Modules:• Handling and Restraining Mice Confidently: Includes a review of normal

mouse behavior and recognition of sick mice and euthanasia techniques. • Oral Gavage and other Injection Techniques: sc, ip, im• Blood Sampling Techniques: Mandibular, saphenous and tail nick. • Genotype sampling and Identification Techniques: tail snip (pre-weanling

and adults) ; identification with ear tags, ear punch and tattoo marking. • Isoflurane anesthesia for mice: includes proper use of equipment, hands-

on mouse anesthesia, and management of waste anesthetic gases. • Pulmonary Metastasis Assay (PuMA)• Optical Imaging

• 3-hour Basic Surgery training course (offered once a month) contact Olga Kuznetsova to be added to the waiting list.

• Hands-on training classes will start the first week of November

• Registration for hands-on training modules will be conducted through email

• Send an email to Melody Roelke-Parker ([email protected]) with “Mouse 101” as the subject.

• Must be enrolled in the Animal Exposure Program (AEP) to be able to handle living animals
