The audience did not fall that far behind with 42% actually enjoying the movie. On Metacritic.com, the critics gave it a 39 with no one actually giving a positive response. Many critics had mixed feelings, not sure if the movie was good or not. The audience gave it a 3.4 stating: “Like the film itself is awful, with Whoopie and Haddish (who legit disappears mid-way through the plot) being the only saving graces, but damn did I see it with a fun audience....

Renaissance Festival Review

By Alexa Beltran

On November 6, 2018, the school was buzzing with late-morning energy. Ms. Hall

wore a Renaissance dress and addressed everyone with an accent. I even dressed up

as a pirate for the occasion. We were going to the Renaissance Festival, a place we

were all excited to see once again. Students discussed whom they were going to

spend the day with. We all lined up to enter three buses and the long excitement

began to build as the hour and half ride continued.

Once we all arrived, students grabbed their tickets and ran inside, where the

buildings were designed for the medieval era it was trying to represent. The smells

of cooked meat floated in the air, attracting very hungry visitors. Long lines began

to form as people ordered turkey legs, the main attraction there, food wise. Soon,

the heat became unbearable and the accessibility of both slushies and fans were

heaven sent.

Small shops were everywhere, selling from hand-made pots and cups to corsets. The

shop owners stayed in character as they discussed what they were selling. From

peasants to pirates, they all genuinely played their characters well.

Plays were performed at the two theaters as people began to circle them, wanting

to see what silly things the performers would do.

Soon, everything came to an end at 3 o’clock, and everyone retreated into the buses

and returned to school. Students discussed what they did and saw as the hour and

half ride took its course. Traveling back in time made it an exciting day and the

photos here depict some of what took place. Happy Viewing!
