Portable Example – Manage Usage• Wireless operators are facing a tsunami data. 

• As a result, many of them are looking for creative ways to off load the demand

• The cause for demand in wireless data - easy to understand. Growth of share of SmartPhones in North America from 2009 through 2015.

• Handset subscribers just in North America are expected to rise from the 23.9% in 09’ to over 67.1% in 15’.Complete reversal in basic phones plummeting from 66.3% down to 22.9% Frost & Sullivan - 2011

• Today, SmartPhones provide tremendous quality of rich media.  Thus, each new SmartPhone results huge data communications demand.

• And then there’s Tablets being purchased in the millions and each tablet via their wireless connection generates huge demand in search and identifying of news, weather, sports, books, magazines, music and videos.  Thus, the use of rich media in tablets could be potentially greater than in SmartPhones.

• Operators are dealing with this by making it easier for subscribers to obtain the rich media they need by encouraging the use of Wi-Fi (in home and out), as well as time-shifting the demand to the evening and night time when the network is at a very low utilization.
