• Does CSR mean the same thing to all?• Has the industry focussed too much on its
programmes rather than its members?• Is it a fad or must it be part of our DNA?• Does the client really know what it means?• Do they really care?• Should there be an industry definition and
standard?
It starts with you
• It is part of being “Fit for purpose”• The entire team need to feel and live it• You need to adjust your business model to
incorporate• You need to reflect this in everything you do
from marketing to delivering fantastic events• There is an English saying that “Charity
begins at home”
CSR is....
• A well run business that creates opportunities, develops talent and profits the economy and environment in a responsible and sustainable way
• It is about doing business responsibly and with the long term benefits for all as the focus
CSR is not......
• Sustainable events that play “lip service” • It is not a profit opportunity per se• It is not just being “green” and not
understanding why?• It is not a fashion accessory• It is not someone else’s responsibility, it is a
collective responsibility
