Open Reference for Jessamy Baudains Having taken the huge decision to move school for her Sixth Form, Jessamy embraced the opportunities offered her with open arms. She developed a real sense of responsibility within her boarding house and became a reliable and well respected house prefect, who held her line firmly but fairly. She understood the need for confidentiality, but also the requirement to pass on relevant information. This innate sense of her role within the boarding house will certainly be of value to her as a journalist. Her superb personal organization, (she never missed a deadline), will be highly valued by her colleagues. She was a keen sportswoman, excelling in dance, and these interests will balance her academic focus and give added depth to the extra-curricular life of any school. The great passion of Jessamy’s studies whilst at school, however, was for English. She has an agile mind and was impressive both on paper and also verbally enjoying the cut and thrust of debate, putting her arguments succinctly and with focus. The points she made in discussion were increasingly sustained and focused. She researched thoroughly for written assignments, where her observations were often shrewd and well argued. Jessamy enjoyed reading and was able to grasp not only the complexity but also the subtlety and nuance in what she read. Jessamy certainly has the people skills, interest and academic ability to develop into a successful journalist. I wish her the very best of luck in the future. Having taken the huge decision to move school for her Sixth Form, Jessamy embraced the opportunities offered her with open arms.
