As per EIA Notification 2006 the proposed Ferro Alloy and Secondary Steel Plant falls under Schedule in serial No. 3 (a) - Metallurgical Industry (ferrous & non- ferrous). Based on area, production and general conditions mentioned in the schedule of EIA Notification, the project is categorized as Category B Hence, the project proponent has to obtain the EC from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority ,Gujarat .M/s.T. R. Associates has been appointed to carry out EIA/EMP studies for Environmental Clearance.
The total land area of company is 29,112 Sq. Mt. out of which 9552 Sq. Mt. (32.8 % of total land) area will be used for greenbelt development. The estimated cost of the Proposed Expansion project is 1.5 Crore. Total budget allocation towards Environmental Management Facilities will be Rs. 35 Lakhs . Total 380 persons will be employed including skilled persons, unskilled persons and office staff.
2. Project Proponent and their back ground
Company is promoted by its directors namely Mr. Inamulhaq Samsulhaq Iraki and Mr. Shadab Iraki having enough experience in field of manufacturing of Steel TMT Bars.
3. Brief description of nature of the project: It is a small scale project for production of TMT Steel Bars which will be used for manufacturing of Building and Construction Industry.
Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region:
Due to rapid industrial & infrastructure development there is constant increase in need of steel & alloys steel in the market. Steel products are used by the large section of the public such as industrial establishments, schools colleges, farmers, agriculturists, builders and general public at large. The proposed Integrated Steel Plant will be a enlargement project just adjacent to existing plant of Viramgam Industrial Estate, Gujarat. The existing infrastructure facilities will help in successful implementation of proposed project. The proposed project will improve the viability of the existing steel plant. The survival of the steel industries in the region is at stake due to higher raw material cost and highly competitive cost of the products. The proposed project will carry out iron ore fines
Beneficiation to minimize raw material cost.
Demand-Supply Gap:
Being a core sector, steel industry tracks the overall economic growth in the long term. Also, steel demand, being derived from other sectors like automobiles, consumer durables and infrastructure, its fortune is dependent on the growth of these user industries. The Indian steel sector enjoys advantages of domestic availability of raw materials and cheap labour. Iron ore is also available in abundant quantities. This provides major cost advantage to the domestic steel industry. The Indian steel industry is largely iron-based through the blast furnace (BF) or the direct reduced iron (DRI) route. About 60% of the crude steel capacity is resident with integrated steel producers (ISP). But the changing ratio of hot metal to crude steel production indicates the increasing presence of secondary steel producers (non integrated steel producers) manufacturing steel through scrap route, enhancing their dependence on imported raw material. World crude steel production was 1547 million tonnes (MT) in 2012, as per World Steel Association (WSA). China accounted for 46% of the world's total crude steel production in 2012, reaching 716.5 MT. During 2012, India maintained its ranking as the 4th largest steel producing country in the world behind China, Japan and the US with a crude steel production of 76.7 MT. Global advisory firm Ernst & Young in its recent study said that India's steel consumption would grow by over 5% in the calendar year 2014 to 83 million tonnes compared with 79 million tonnes the country consumed in the previous calendar year. In general there is demand of steel products in the region as well as country and its demand is increasing day by day due to developmental activities. Imports v/s Indigenous production: Though demand of steel and alloy steel in the market is rapidly developing but the transportation cost and distance criteria for immediate supply are the major factor. Total steel imports by India during the last fiscal (2013-14) stood at 5.44 MT as per Joint Plant Committee (JPC), a unit of the steel ministry and it is mainly related to high quality steel. The steel production in India would grow somewhat 3% to 84 million tonnes in the current calendar year compared with 81 million tonnes in the previous year.
Export Possibility:
Total steel exports by India during the last fiscal ( 2013-14) stood at 5.59 million tonnes (MT). The high quality steel products of the proposed project will reduce the imports to some extent and also there will be export possibility.
Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project:
This project will provide direct employment to 380 people whereas it will provide employment to many others indirectly. Plywood and Laminated sheet Industries provide employment to large number of people.

Manufacturing Process
Process Description:
MS scrap of predetermined composition is metal in induction furnace and liquid hot metal is transferred in pouring ladle of castor.
The billets are been produce in desired size. The same hot billets are directly transferred to rolling mill stand through Conveyer belt.
After been rolled in different stand of rolling mill, the TMT is produced and ready to dispatch.
In case of Billets Purchase from outside or open market require to reheat , hence the same are re-heated in Re heating furnace and then hot billets are subject to rolling mill stand through conveyer belt. After been rolled in different stand of rolling mill, the TMT are produced and ready to dispatch.

The area forms part of North Gujarat Alluvial Plain. The area is under lain by post Miocene alluvium comprising sand, gravel, silt and clay. The alluvium is about 400 m thick under lain by tertiary formation. The alluvium mainly consists of palaeo deltaic, fluvial and Aeolian sediments, comprising alternate bands of fine to course grained sand, gravel and yellowish brownish sticky clay. The sub-soil condition below the existing ground level is almost uniform in nature. Sub soil is composed of Clay mixed with little fine grained silty sand, moram and kankar with low resistivity due to clay and soil moisture. The area is covered with recent to sub recent alluvial deposits comprising of brownish clay mixed with little fine grained sand, silty sand. The Soil below ground level consist of top silty low plastic soil layer having no swelling nature. Blackish brown to yellowish brown clayey silt or sand silt layer extends to the depth of 2 to 3 m.
