POLICE NOTICE

CELEBRATION OF “FETE DE LA CITE” 2018

By virtue of authority conferred upon me by Section 25 (3) of the Police Act and Section 181 of the Road Traffic Act, unless otherwise directed by Police, traffic arrangements as hereunder will be made as from 19.00 hrs on 28 September, 2018 to 04.00 hrs on 30 September, 2018 in Port Louis Division in connection with the above event.

2. CLOSURE OF ROAD

(i) SSR Street from its junction with Jules Koenig Street up to La Paix Street;

(ii) Louis Pasteur Street from its junction with Remy Ollier up to SSR Street;

(iii) Jummah Mosque Street from its junction with Sir Virgile Naz Street up to SSR Street;

(iv) Dr. Joseph Riviere Street from its junction with Remy Ollier up to SSR Street;

(v) Emmanuel Anquetil Street from its junction with Sir virgile Naz Street up to SSR Street;

(vi) Dr. Sun Yat Sen from its junction with Remy Ollier up to SSR Street; and

(vii) Dr. Sun Yat Sen from its junction with Sir Virgil Naz Street up to SSR Street.

3. ROAD JUNCTIONS

Road junction with SSR Street will remain operational up to 20.00 hrs as follows:

(i) Sir William Newton Street;

(ii) Bourbon Street; and

(iii) Corderie Street;

4. DIVERSION OF TRAFFIC

Vehicular traffic coming from Khadafi Square, Plaine Verte proceeding towards the South will be diverted onto la Paix Street.

5. ROUTES FOR BUSES

(i) Buses leaving Plaine Verte UBS Bus Stand proceeding towards the South will use either Madad U1 Islam Street or La Paix Street to proceed towards Vallee Pitot and then onto Boulevard Victoria Street to proceed to the South; and

(ii) Buses on routine trip coming from the South will use Remy Ollier Street to reach Plaine Verte UBS Bus Stand.

Note: Bus stops found along SSR Street Port Louis will not be operational for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers.

6. NO PARKING

No vehicles will be allowed to park on both sides of the roads along SSR Street.

7 PEDESTRIAN ZONE

All along SSR Street from its junction with Jules Koenig will be declared as a Pedestrian Zone.

8. JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS

Non compliance with these traffic arrangements will entail judicial proceeding.

The Cooperation and understanding of the public would be much appreciated.

Notice is hereby given that the Director-General has by virtue of the power conferred upon him by Section 7 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1969 as amended by the Finance Act 2006, fixed with effect from Monday 1st October, 2018 the following rates of exchange with regard to the value of goods imported for the purpose of levying ad valorem duty thereon.
