It is with great pleasure that the Mt Alexander Community Children’s Network (MACCN), with support from the Mount Alexander Shire Council present the Family and Children’s Services Guide for 2010.

MACCN is a community based network of parents, community members, and other key stakeholders who are committed to providing support for children and their families across Mount Alexander Shire. Our vision of Mount Alexander is as a place where families and children are celebrated; where children feel safe and connected to their community and where their individual talents and contributions are valued.

In 2008 MACCN were successful in the Early Years Awards established by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in the category of “Communities that are becoming more family and child friendly”. The award acknowledged the Leadership and innovation of this community partnership that is dedicated to improving the situation of children and their families in the Shire. As the Award Winner, MACCN received a grant to assist in the creation of this Guide to ensure that families and service providers across the Shire have access to current and relevant information, resources and agencies.

Refugee Health Foundation House (The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture, VFST) VFST provides a range of services to people from refugee back grounds.
