OUTLOOK
Written by Priscilla Leonard
Forget each kindness that you do
As soon as you have done it. Forget the praise that
falls to you The moment you have won it.
Forget the slander
that you hear Before you can repeat it.
Forget each slight, each spite, each sheer
Wherever you may meet it.
Remember every
kindness done To you, whate'er its measure.
Remember praise by others won
And pass it on with pleasure.
Remember every
promise made And keep it to the letter.
Remember those who lend you aid
And be a grateful debtor.
Remember all the
happiness That comes your way in living.
Forget each worry and distress;
Be hopeful and forgiving.
Remember good, remember truth,
Remember Heaven's above you,
And you will find, through age and youth,
True joys and hearts to love you.

Play Review: “Tight Pants” Written By
Sis. Andrea (Mimmie) Dixon
On Saturday afternoon, June 23,
2018, I had the pleasure of being in
the audience at the Majestic Thea-
ter in West Springfield, MA to
view the play, “Tight Pants” writ-
ten by Bethel Arnold. What a
wonderful story of a mother’s de-
sire to have a better life for her and
her children.
From living poorly by a bodega in
the Dominican Republic to the
dream of living a good life in
America, she did it, the dreams and
prayers of her daughter’s and hers
came true.
Mothers confront a lot of issues,
struggles, and hardships raising
children by themselves, but having
faith and being determined and
staying focused everything works
out for the best for everyone in-
volved!
I shared with Bethel that she should
continue her writing, and that she
did a great job! The play was
touching, funny and kept you en-
gaged. It was beautifully casted!
But most importantly, the play was
REAL! She told us her life.

July’s Children’s Church
Written by Sis. Patrice Caudle
Children's Church was held Sunday, July 8, 2018. Eleven children, 2 youth leaders, and 1 nurse attended the service. This month's lesson was about the Bible and how to understand what we read from the Bible. The children learned about the Old and New Testament, how many books are in the Bible, and what Testament means (Promise). The children were asked "What is the Bible?" and some of the answers were: ‘the Word of God, instructions on how to live our lives, and promises from God.’ For homework, the children were asked to start memorizing the books of the Bible.
The children also made a craft using the "Hand Illustration" to help them remember how to under-stand what they read in the Bible: • Hear (pinky finger): First, we hear the word of God through listening to the Pastor's sermon, listen-
ing to our teachers during Bible study, and listening to our parents or other people read Bible stories (Romans 10:17)
• Read (ring finger): Next, we read the Bible ourselves. We read Bible stories, we read our Bible study lesson, we read daily devotionals (Revelation 1:3a)
• Study (middle finger): After hearing and reading the Word, next we study what we read. We at-tend Bible study, we ask questions, we talk about it with others (Acts 17:11)
• Memorize (pointer finger): We memorize what we read from the Bible. We can make Bible verse memory cards, we can write out a verse to memorize it, we can test each other in Bible study or at home (Psalm 119:11,13)
• Meditate (thumb): Finally, we think about we have heard, read, studied, and memorized. We can ask God to show us how we can use what we have learned in our lives (Psalm 119:15)

Dance Fever Written by Sis. Patrice Caudle
I had the pleasure of watching the youth of Mt. Zion dance in two programs during the month of June. The Youth Dance Ministry was invited to minister at Seedtime & Harvest Ministries located in Bloomfield, CT Sunday, June 24, 2018. The service was a celebration of Seedtime's youth and graduates. Our young ladies did an awesome job ministering to "Glory to the Lamb". We were also treated to a powerful message, to young and old alike, on how God's plan is the best plan. We may make our plans and have good intentions, but God may change our plans for His plan which is ulti-mately better. It was a wonderful service. On Saturday, June 30, 2018, Legacy Dance Studio held its 1st annual Dance Recital at Central High School. We were treated to a number of dance routines, including hip-hop, African dance, jazz, tap, and gymnastics. One of my favorites was the adult African dance troupe's "Welcome to Wakanda" routine. A number of Mt. Zion’s talented youth participated in the Jr. Hip Hop (Taylor Holmes, Ken-zona Ledbetter), Tiny Tots (Sophia Coppedge-Nicholas), Teen Hip Hop (Jordan Holmes, Sydney Barkalow), and Finale routines. These kids can move. If you see them in the sanctuary, ask them to show you a move or two!
More About the Dance Ministry Written by Sis. Andrea (Mimmie) Dixon
On Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the evening, I attended a program at Seedtime & Harvest Ministries in Windsor, CT, to witness our Youth Dance Ministry perform dance for Seedtime’s Youth & Young Adult Sunday Night-live Program.
Our dance troupe did an excellent job, and their instructor, Sis. Tiffany Tolbert-Wright, was quite proud of them (as were the members in the audience). Pastor Atu was like a peacock whose feath-ers were beautifully spread—proud!
The Word was brought by Min. Nichole Odame Bamfo from Seedtime, and it came from Phil. 4:13, entitled, “What Would Your Report Card Say?” Be obedient and remember (Phil 4:13. “You can do all things through Christ …”). Sometimes you change your plans, just because, but it’s always best to follow God’s way for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). This ‘youth’ sermon made me think what my life’s report card would say!)
Even as adults, life can be difficult. But if we keep remembering the promises of God and stay in His Word, we can and will make it through all obstacles.
Seeing the works of God through young people (oh yeah, they did the entire program!) made it an evening well spent.
Anniversary Celebrated Last Month
