Metatrader 4 (MT4) can be a bit daunting. Installing an MT4 indicator can be even more daunting. This step-by-step guide means you will have no problems installing

any of our indicators or, for that matter, any others.

Step 1Download The MT4 Indicator File

To A “Downloads Folder” On Your ComputerDownload the MT4 Indicator File (.ex4)

from the email or the website it is locatedStart the download process as you would for any other file

And save it on your computer in a “Downloads Folder”or wherever you prefer

e.g. Desktop / Downloads / Etc.

Step 2Locate The “MT4 Indicators Folder”

Open your MT4 terminal and then...

Step 2aClick on File /

Open Data Folder

Step 2bDouble Click

on MQL4

Step 2cDouble Clickon Indicators

Step 3Move Your MT4 Indicator File From The “Downloads

Folder” To The “MT4 Indicators Folder”Drag and Drop or Copy And Pasteyour MT4 Indicator File (.ex4) from

the “Downloads Folder” to the “MT4 Indicators Folder”As you would move any other file

Move yourMT4 Indicator File (.ex4)

from the “Downloads Folder”

To the“MT4 Indicators Folder”

Step 4Close And Restart Your MT4 Terminal

In order to complete the installation process you mustnow close and restart your MT4 Terminal

As you would any other time you close and restart your MT4 Terminal

Click onFile / Exit

OrClick on

“X” (Close)

Now, restart yourMT4 Terminal...

Step 5aAdd Your MT4 Indicator To Your Chart

To toggle the Navigator

window on / off Click on View / Navigator or

use Control + N

There are 3 ways to add your MT4 indicator to your chartHere’s the first way, using the Navigator window

Locate your MT4 indicator in the

“Indicators” directory

Now, Double Click on your MT4 indicator or Drag and Drop it onto

your chart

Step 5bTwo other ways of adding your MT4 indicator to your chart

Click on Insert / Indicators / Custom, locate your MT4 indicator and Click on it

Click on the Indicators List Icon / Custom, locate your

MT4 indicator and Click on it

Note: If you cannot see your MT4 indicator it means you have not completed Steps 1 – 4 correctly

Step 6View The List Of MT4 Indicators Attached To Your

Current ChartThere are two ways to view the list of MT4 indicators

attached to your current chartYou need to do this if you wish to modify any settings

Click on Charts /Indicators List

Right Click anywhere on your current chart and Click

on Indicators List

Or use Control + I

Step 7Modify Your MT4 Indicator Settings

From the list of MT4 indicators attached to your current chart select the one you wish to modify

Double Click on theMT4 indicator you wish to

modify or select it and then Click on Edit

Custom Indicator

In the Indicators Properties window most

modifications for most indicators are made under the Input Tab, so Click on it
