Deployment Instructions :

1. Transferir en modo binario el paquete del patch "cmbiap110djp3.tgz" al directorio /opt/bsm/lib/lip/V11.0.patch del

BSM activo (normalmente es el BSM A)

2. Logearse al BBSM Activo con el usuario bsmbin.

3. Tomar un snapshot de la base de datos con el procedimiento conocido y utilizado en el SWACT de BSMs

4. Ejecutar la herramienta SSPRSM

5. En la ventana BSMCONTROL, en la pestaa Software Librery, registrar el nuevo lip presionando el botn

REGISTER LIP IMAGE. Aparecer un cuadro de dilogo en el que se buscar el archivo cmbiap110djp3.lip en la

ruta/opt/bsm/scripts/V11.0_patch. Presionar aceptar y otro cuadro de dilogo aparecer para proceder a la

sincronizacin del lip file. Presionar sync y luego close.

Usando grficos:

6. En la ventana NAVIGATOR, expandir la estructura de la celda escogida hasta llegar al objeto CBCM. Hacer un

clic derecho sobre este objeto y seleccionar Edit and Update Attributes.

7. Cambiar el campo BTSIDnldApplicationID al LIP file cmbiap110djp3 registrado anteriormente en el SIL (Software

Inventory Library). Presionar update y luego close.

8. Volver a hacer un clic derecho sobre el objeto CBCM y seleccionar General Operations>InSvcDnld. La accin toma

unos 5 minutos en realizarse. Se puede revisar el proceso consultando la ventana de informacin. Al finalizar, hacer

un clic derecho y seleccionar Edit and Update Attributes para revisar que el campo BTSIFlashApplicationId

muestre la versin del lip cmbiap110djp3 en la flash 1, y el antiguo, el cmbiap110dj en la flash 0.

9. Hacer un clic derecho sobre CBCM y seleccionar Edit and Update Attributes. Cambiar el campo

BTSIResetApplication al nuevo lip. En el objeto MCBTSSubsystem1 hacer un clic derecho y ejecutar General

Operations>Reset para resetear la celda y hacer el activo el nuevo software.

10. Luego ejecutar General Operations>Initialize. Terminada la reinicializacin, revisar en el objeto CBCM que el

campo BTSIActualSoftwareId muestre la versin del lip cmbiap110djp3 como la actual versin activa en la celda.

11. Realizar pruebas de escenarios en cobertura de la celda.

Usando el CLIAPP.

6. Usar un sessin de terminal y ejecutar el comando cliapp. Posicionarse en la celda escogida y verificar que las dos

flash tengan la misma versin de lip:

Si no tuvieran la misma versin, realizar un commit:

7. Cambiar el campo BTSIDnldApplicationID al LIP file cmbiap110djp3 registrado anteriormente en el SIL (Software

Inventory Library). Anotar el nmero del FileId para usarlo en el comando siguiente:

8. Realizar el InSvcDnld. La accin toma unos 5 minutos en realizarse.

Se puede revisar el proceso ejecutando el siguiente comando hasta que el campo BTSIFlashApplicationId muestre la

versin del lip cmbiap110djp3 en la flash 1, y el antiguo, el cmbiap110dj en la flash 0.


9. Cambiar el campo BTSIResetApplication al nuevo lip. En el objeto MCBTSSubsystem1 ejecutar Reset e Initialize

para resetear la celda y hacer el activo el nuevo software.

10. Utilizar el siguiente comando para notar el fin de la inicializacin (Status = AppRunning) . Terminada la

reinicializacin, revisar en el objeto CBCM que el campo BTSIActualSoftwareId muestre la versin del lip

cmbiap110djp3 como la actual versin activa en la celda.

Por favor tener en cuenta que se debe programar una ventana para aplicar este lip file en las BTS de la red. Esta esuna labor de mantenimiento preventivo equivalente al proceso que normalmente se raliza en la central con laactualizacin de patches. Su aplicacin es muy importante para prevenir degradacin de servicio.

En el archivo que envi Juan Sarmiento hay un archivo llamadoadmin.cmbiap110djp3 que contiene una seccin alfinal titulada "deployment instructions".

An externally triggered broadcast paging message storm (data storm/data spam) has occurred in some

Customer systems resulting in extended outages/degradations. The BTS PCM Controller (BTSI)

congestion control feature engages protecting the BTS from excessive broadcast page message inflow

rates. This message storm could be a very high spike of messages for a very short duration. Once the

message storm has stopped the system was not recovering the office in a timely and acceptable manner.

It appears that the BTSI is stuck in overload discarding paging messages. Then, manual action is required

by ER to expedite the recovery to reduce the outage/degradation impact. The source of broadcast paging

has been traced to a single IP user from the Pacific rim.

Adjunto el lip file para que revisen y confirmen la necesidad de su aplicacin inmediata (en ventana de

mantenimiento pues afecta servicio).
