Hours of ServiceThe conventional transit route operates Monday to Friday.

Morning route: 8am to 10amAfternoon route: 2:30pm to 5pm

The route begins at Nelson Square and runs on a 30 minute loop.

Route Schedule

Conventional Transit Services Information Have exact fare ready - All fares are $2.00. Children under 3 ride free with a parent or guardian. Shirt and Shoes are required. No smoking on the bus. Children must be removed from strollers and stroller must be collapsed to fit between seats.

For safety reasons, children capable of sitting on their own must sit on a seat and not on an adults lap. Food and drink are permitted only in a spill proof container (such as a sport bottle).

Wagons/tricycles/bicycles are prohibited. Service animals are welcome, pets are not allowed. Backpacks/skate boards/packages/parcels/etc. must not block the aisles or occupy a seat.

How to ApplyApplication forms are available at www.meaford.ca/transit, the Municipal Office, or by calling 519-538-1060 ext. 1115 to be mailed a hardcopy. You can either have the application form completed and signed by one of the listed Health Care Professionals, or provide the information from a valid Ontario Accessible Parking Permit to the Municipal Office for verification. The application must be either signed by the applicant, or signed on behalf of the applicant if he/she is incapable of signing. Submit your completed form to:

What is Meaford’s Specialized Transit service?Specialized Transit is a personalized accessible door-to-door transportation service. Specialized Transit may be used for any purpose - employment, medical, personal business, or leisure activities within the Municipality. Transit services will also be provided to Collingwood, Thornbury and Owen Sound for professional/medical related appointments. Who Is eligible?Residents who, because of physical limitations, are unable to board the conventional transit system, may use Specialized Transit. Riders generally fall into two categories: Permanent: Individuals who are permanently disabled and require the service for an indefinite period of time. Temporary: Individuals who are temporarily disabled because of illness or injury. These people are subject to review if the service is still required after the expiration date. Scooters and electric wheelchairs (depending on their size, weight and type) are permitted aboard the transit vehicles. Riders are asked to get their devices verified by the transit operator for accommodation.
