The week that was! (Week 10 Term 2)

Careers Expo

Tuesday, June 25 was the Western Victoria Careers Expo day. Our year 10, 11 and 12 cohort attended the Expo at Longerenong

College. The students who attended started the process of ‘life after school’ and where to when it comes to a career. It was a great

way for them to explore endless possibilities of job opportunities. I enjoyed sharing the day with our students and helping them to

start thinking about what is possible after they finish their secondary education. I would like to make a special mention and thank Mr

Andrew Vague who is the chairperson of the expo committee. He was responsible for heading up the group of hardworking staff that

put the day on and made it a great success. Well done Mr Vague!

Reports

Students were given a hard copy of the Accelerus reports on the last day of term 2. These reports are to complement the ongoing

reporting and assessment that occurs on XUNO. Students who were absent on the last day will be followed up this week and their

reports will be sent home with them. If, any parent/guardian has any issue with receiving this report please contact the office so we

can clear up the issue.

SRC – last day of term 2

On the last day of term 2 the SRC ran a casual clothes day with fundraising activities. They collected money for the casual clothes and

ran a barbeque and to raise much needed funds for the SRC. I would like to thank the whole college community for getting behind

their efforts.

Year 7/8 Football and Netball

On Wednesday, June 26 we had most of our year 7/8 cohort of students playing Football or Netball. The students travelled to Horsham

to represent the college at the Black Ranges AFL 9’s and Netball competition. All 4 teams represented the college in a positive manner.

They enjoyed themselves, showed sportsmanship and above all respect for their opponents, officials and staff. The 2 football teams

won all their games and the 2 Netball teams had some wins and losses. Overall, all the students and staff had a great day! Thank you to

Mr Shaun Bray for organising the day and to the following staff who helped Mr Bray by coaching on the day. Mr Shannon Argall, Ms

Judith Rees, Ms Stephanie Searle and Mrs Whitney Kingston.
