• Looking back on my preliminary task I would say that I have improved in several areas of Adobe Photoshop.

• I have used some Photoshop formatting techniques to edit the appearance of the title of the magazine and give it it’s rough metallic look and an image formatting technique to give the footer it’s sharp spiky look. Both of these images are easily relatable to the rock genre.

• I have made the barcode and price smaller as I believe they distract from the main image and coverlines.

• I used the lasso tool to crop the main image and add it to a different background, something that I did not know how to do during the preliminary task.

• Looking back at the contents page I created for my preliminary task, I feel that I have definitely improved on Adobe InDesign.

• I think that the contents page I created for the preliminary task has far too much blank white space and not enough going on for the audiences attention to be grabbed.

• On my contents page I created for my main task, there is still the issue of blank space but I have attempted to combat this by formatting the edges of the boxes with the Satin effect to make them more visually appealing.

• On both contents pages I have used several images but I think the images I have used on my main task are more effective than the ones used on the preliminary task because they are much more relevant to the article being advertised.

• I think the main contents listing on my main task is much clearer and easier to read than the one on the Student Magazine.

• Looking back at the contents page I created for my preliminary task, I feel that I have definitely improved on Adobe InDesign.

• I think that the contents page I created for the preliminary task has far too much blank white space and not enough going on for the audiences attention to be grabbed.

• My article combats the issue if too much white space by using a light image that covers the background without inhibiting the readers ability to decipher the text.

• I believe the font and style of text I have used in the main task is more professional looking and more sophisticated than the font used in the Student Magazine. I also believe I have used a better colour scheme for the text in the main task.
