PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Parents and Carers, Congratulations to all who were involved in the Presentation Day last Friday. It was wonderful to see all of our students who were recognised for their academic achievements throughout the year. Well done to all students from our band, choir and Aboriginal dance group who performed on the day. A huge congratulations to our new leaders for 2017. We are excited to announce that our new captains are Teighan Vakatini and Mitchell Galvin, vice-captains Imogen Hall and Ethan Simpson and our prefects Elizah Legg, Melissa Parker, Matthew Lackenby and Mikee Dolbel. We would like to wish our two retirees all the very best in the next chapter of their lives. Ms Williams and Mrs Ferguson have both been outstanding people at our school and will be sadly missed. Remember, you are welcome back to South anytime. I would also like to wish Miss Elliott, Miss Walters, Miss Marshall, Mrs Dean and Miss Nguyen all the very best as they move into a new educational journey. Thanks for all that you have achieved at South and we wish you all the very best in your future careers. In saying our goodbyes we welcome back to our school Mr Sampson as Assistant Principal, Mrs Crooks and Ms McKay. We look forward to having their expertise back at South. We would like to wish all of our Year 6 students the best of luck for High School. You all have had a wonderful year and I am sure you have made some fond memories in your time at South over the past seven years for a lot of you. Keep working hard and always give your best efforts. In closing, a huge thank you to all who have been involved with our school for 2016. All of the staff here at South would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year and we look forward to working with you again in 2017.
