MESSAGEPRINCIPAL’SOn Monday the Premier and Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning announced that students will be returning to school on 25 May.
This is a return to normal school routines with some exceptions:• Staff and parents to abide by physical distancing guidelines• Enhanced cleaning to continue• No assemblies• Minimising parents entering the school• No volunteers in the school• No excursions• Simplified reports for Semester 1• Four year olds to attend Warrae Wanni.
I request that parents not congregate in or around the school. If parents must enter the school do so briefly and do not wait around on school grounds.
As all students are required to attend school, we will no longer be providing learning from home units of work. Students not attending school will be marked as absent, unless they have an underlying medical condition that places them at additional risk.
I understand that this is a big change for some parents with only short notice. I might add that schools were not informed of this change until yesterday afternoon, a day after it was released in the news. That being the case, we are well prepared for all students to attend and were ready to offer parents the option to send their children to school every day next week anyway.
Glen Kite - Principal
6RED NEWS6 Red students are determined, flexible and OUTSTANDING! The past month has seen many changes to how we have been learning but the enthusiasm, laughter and smiles of 6 Red have remained. The quality of work that has been produced is amazing. Everyone is looking forward to going back to normal but until then 6 Red will be busy supporting, laughing and learning! ~ Miss Scott

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONYEAR 6 SHIRTSAttention Year 6 Parents/CaregiversIn the coming weeks, we will be ordering our Year 6 shirts to commemorate your child’s final year at Primary School. These shirts can be worn by students every Tuesday and Thursday.
The total cost of the shirt will be $50 and our student leaders also have the option to add their leadership position, for example ‘Captain’, to the back of the shirt for an extra $6 (making their shirts $56). In addition, student names (first & last) will also be printed on the back. A non-refundable deposit of $30 is due Friday 29 May (Week 5, Term 2).
These payments can be made in cash directly to the office, or preferably via the MSPS POP (parent online payment system) from the school website. If you choose to use the POP system please include your child’s details (including shirt size) and what the payment is for.
The full amount of the shirt needs to be finalised by Friday 12 June, (Week 7, Term 2). If you have any enquiries or concerns, please contact the school. If these payments are not finalised by Friday 12 June and no alternative pay-ment plan has been arranged, your child’s shirt will not be received.

We are still taking payments and final payments are now due by Thursday 2 July (Week 10, Term 2). Please note, if the excursion is cancelled due to COVID 19 or other unforeseen circumstances, all families will receive a full refund of the amount paid.
