My Canmore – personal responseHistory of premisesPosted by Tom Caldwell on 14 June 2010 I believe that this was the premises of my grandfather Tom Caldwell's "Lemonade" factory from some time in the 1930's until he sold the business to the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society in 1949. The SCWS set up a chain of soft drink factories trading as "Hendry's". The property including the adjoining residence was known as "Shawbank" East Shaw Street Kilmarnock.Any further information on the history of the building or of the firm will be welcomed.

My Canmore – trends

• 20/80 rule evident in images• 72% of contributors uploaded <5 images• 5 users contributed > 100 images each• 1 user contributed nearly 400 images

• Text contributions significantly less, but more evenly distributed

• Comparatively little evidence of users interactingwith one another (<20 in 500)

My Canmore – development issues

• Security of images• Geo-referencing• Browsing • Copyright/legality

• ‘Correct this’ function?• User involvement – 20/80 rule?• Promoting interaction• Promoting/steering contributions• Encourage better captioning
