TRANSCRIPT
My dear St. Anne family,
I write this letter to you amidst the empty boxes, the piles of books and the stack of clothes in my new room. I have almost moved in – I will say it again: almost.
I like that word: almost. It is a word full of hope - a word full of promise. I have met a lot of people here in the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River – they are as welcoming, as loving and as dynamic as the people I have had the blessing of sharing life with in St. Anne. I am very excited to begin my new assignment this weekend!
Nevertheless, I could not help but look back at the months that have passed, being assigned as a transitional deacon in St. Anne. They were times of joy - I consider it a blessing to have known and loved this parish. Words cannot express my gratitude having to have known you - thanks to a great mentor Fr. Joe, and a true brother now, and a friend, Fr. Colin.
So as I try to finish writing all the thank you cards, so I can mail them (I am looking at the people I am thankful for, and I cannot help but feel humbled and blessed with the gifts God has been showering my life now as a priest), I am taking this opportunity to say this again:
God puts people together so that they can have good relationships; and so that people might experience God through these good relationships. I have been blessed to have known the people of St. Anne - and I have established relationships that I consider to be life-changing, and hopefully, life-long friendships.
Thank you St. Anne - until we meet again. In some mysterious way, when we allow ourselves to love and we try to give Christ to others, our life will change for the better. Thank you for changing my life; thank you for sharing the love of Jesus Christ to me.
Many blessings and prayers,
Rev. Fr. JC Merino

REFLECTION
A Homecoming, -Wendell Berry
One faith is bondage. Two
are free. In the trust
of old love, cultivation shows
a dark and graceful wilderness
at its heart. Wild
in that wilderness, we roam
the distance of our faith;
safe beyond the bounds
of what we know. O love,
open. Show me
my country. Take me home.
STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS 12th Sunday of Ordinary Times “Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.”
(Matthew 10:32) Do you share your Catholic faith with others? Do you defend your Catholic faith or do you remain silent when the situation arises? Do you pray in public before meals? Pray for the strength and courage to be a joyful witness of our Catholic faith when the opportunity presents itself.
BACK TO OUR ROOTS We are taking our summer break. See you in September -- watch for
our start-up date in late August
ENGRAVED IN STONE… Would you like to have your name go down in Saint Anne history? We are once again accepting orders for pavers that will be placed in either of TWO locations. You can purchase a paver to be laid in the Meditation Garden to the right of the church OR a paver to appear near the gym doors of Saint Anne School. Forms are available at the rectory.

A Word from Pope Francis: The walls which divide us can be broken down
only if we are prepared to listen and learn from
one another. We need to resolve our differences
through forms of dialogue which help us grow in
understanding and mutual respect. A culture of
encounter demands that we be ready not only to
give, but also to receive. (1/24/14)
Word… St. Anne’s is a family of faith formed by the Word of God, especially as this is expressed in the person of Christ, in the
Scriptures, and in the Tradition of the Church. As we hear this word and take it more and more deeply into our lives, we become ever
more truly the People of God. If you have any comments, please feel free to contact any of the following Pastoral Council
Representatives: Donna Stickna, Melissa Rovetto-Ruffner & Marianne Cummins .

We are grateful to the 1,352 people who worshipped with us last weekend and contributed $12,561.00 in the offertory and $2,307.00 through Online Giving offertory,
which along with other fees and donations totaled $18,539.00. Our weekly expenses average out to $20,348.00.
Heating & Air Conditioning ~ Everyone knows that there are some months in which our electricity bill or heating bill is higher than others.
Well, it’s the same with the Church. As you know, we use an additional way of paying for our extra energy
months. In the back of the church each Sunday you will find separate ENERGY envelopes. If you should
happen to hit the jackpot that week, and wish to throw a dollar or two in that envelope, we’d greatly appreciate
it! You can throw these special envelopes right in the collection with your regular envelope. The energy
envelopes will not be mailed to you. They will simply be in the back of the church, so if you don’t spot them, be
sure to ask the ushers at your Mass. Thanks.
Online Giving…
You have the opportunity to make donations to our Sunday collection online! To sign up, go to the St. Anne website – www.stannefairlawnnj.org
There are several ways to access the system: 1. Underneath the scrolling slideshow on the home page, on the bottom right-hand corner, you will
see a light blue icon with a $ sign. Click that icon to go directly to the system.
OR 2. From the homepage, check the left-hand menu options. The second to last menu option says
“envelopes & online giving.” Click that link, and a page with various giving options will appear.
Select the Online Giving option to be taken directly to the system.
Once you are taken to the new site, click on the section that says Create New Account. Next you will see New User Account Registration. Fill out the form and click “submit.” When you are enrolled, you can go into Manage My Account, where you will see My Payment Methods. Here you can choose to have the funds deducted from your checking or bank account (you will need your routing and account numbers on hand). Under Manage My Account, you will also see Give a New Gift. There you will decide when and how much to give. (In the list, Offertory Collection means the Sunday collection.) You can select recurring or one time gifts. You also have the option to access all the other special envelopes you would normally find in your envelope packet and which are generally one-time donations.
Each time you go to Mass, get a card that says “I have made my donation online” and put it in the collection when the usher comes around. Thanks so much for giving online!
