one your arms, abs, thighs, and everything else injust 20 minutes a day with this workout routine, de-signed with the busy bride in mind.

When youre choosing chair sashes, narrowing yourplaylists, and scooting to dress ttings, it may eel im-possible to t in a decent workout. But its quality, notquantity, that really counts, says Lynn Bode, personaltrainer and owner o WorkoutsForBrides.com. I youtruly do not have more than, say, two hours per weekto devote to exercise, then make those two hours as e-ective as possible, she says.

And with the limited time you do have, try to incorpo-rate both cardio workouts and strength training exer-cises, Bode advises. Interval training and boot-camp-style workouts are great choices, as they both burn a loto calories and can oer an option o both cardio andstrength-training in one workout.

Shes devised this pre-wedding plan to oer heart-pumping benets while toning what she considers tobe the top bridal target areas -- those most exposed indresses: triceps, shoulders, and upper back. Perormeach move or 30 to 60 seconds beore advancing to thenext exercise. Aer completing the nal exercise, restor 30 to 60 seconds and then return to rst to complete

another set. Do a total o 2 to 3 sets per session.

Hold band handles inboth hands with arms at sides. Bend your le knee toa 90-degree angle as you lower down toward the oor.(Your right oot bends slightly too, with only your righttoes on the ground.) Simultaneously extend your armsout to your sides, up to shoulder level. Keep your leknee rom extending in ront o your toes. Return tostart position, repeat, and switch sides.

Move 2: Power Air JumpStart with eet together and hands together. Using yourleg muscles, jump o the ground as ar as you comort-ably can while opening your legs out wide. Simultane-ously make a circular motion over your head with yourhands and back bring them back to center. Repeat.

Move 3: PushUp on BallLie on your stomach on a stability ball, walking yourarms out on the oor in ront o you until your handsare under your shoulders, ngers pointing orward.(Te ball should be resting underneath your hips andupper thighs.) Bend your elbows and slowly lower yourbody to the oor. Keep your back straight throughoutthe move; do not allow it to sway or arch. Return tostart position and repeat.

Move 4: Jump RopeJump both eet o the ground together as you bring therope under your eet.

Move 5: Balancing Arnold PressSit comortably on a stability ball with both eet onthe oor. Begin by holding dumbbells in both hands, arms extended down to your sides, palms acing outin ront o you, elbows against your torso. Bring handsto shoulders (palms acing shoulders) in a biceps curl, then extend both arms overhead, rotating dumbbells sothat your palms ace out again as you straighten yourarms. Reverse each action to return to start positionand repeat.

Move 6: Moving Front KicksStand with eet together. Raise your le knee up to

FIING into a UXEDO or SUI

Ask your ance to come along with you to several Suit and uxShops or a try-on session. Tis will allow her to give an opinionon the style o tuxedo that best compliments her dress.

Consider giving your guys a break and choose a standard blacktux with or without a certain vest and tie or them. Tat way theycan wear their own tux i they own one. I you go with matching

vests and ties, they can be rented separately. Set yours apart romyour groomsmen and choose a dierent colour tie and/or vest

rom the rest o your groomsmen.

I you choose to have your groomsmen wear the exact tuxedo, set up a time to t ormalwear. I they are coming rom dierentparts o the country, choosing a national chain may make thiseasier or your boys. Some chains oer websites that allow yourguys to enter in their sizes.

Any ormal wear rental chain can meet any particular needs youmight have. Just make sure there is a store located close to thewedding location so items can be picked up and returned easily.Tis can avoid groomsmen having to bring their rented tuxs onthe plane and having them wrinkled on the wedding day.

SHOES:Regardless o whether you wear a suit or a tuxedo, youre going toneed new shoes. Shine them up at a shoe shiner near you!

I wearing a suit, your belt should be the same color as the shoes.A tux does not require a belt. Do not even try it. I you have lostweight, go with suspenders.

Te ux shoes:Patent-leather shoes are the standard, but denitely not neces-sary. A brand new pair o black leather shoes, newly shined willalso work and may be more comortable or the hours o dancingahead. Rental companies will charge you an additional ee or

usually low quality patent-leather shoes. Consider wearing yourown new black shoes instead.

UXEDOS:Te tuxedo is always a classic. A good tuxedo is ormal wear at its

very best. Simple, elegant, and classic. Te tuxedo has been thestandard or mens ormalwear or years. Tink 007, Cary Grant, and Sinatra.

A Few ips:- Gray or white tuxedos are strictly wedding attire, whereas blacktuxedos can be used or multiple events.

    - Cummerbunds have become a ashion aux paus. Go with avest. No Colours. Remember that there are owers to coordinatewith. Go with Black or Silver. Pattern or not, its your choice.Dont orget the matching handkerchie.- Either Bow ties or long ties are appropriate. Black, white, silver, the choice is yours. Te bow tie is the mainstay o the classic tux-edo. Its the sae and classic look most Grooms decide to go with.ies are a nice alternative to this tradition. A tie is modern, sleek, and can set you apart rom your Groomsmen wearing bow ties.

    - Collared shirts are ashionable with either tie type. Te WingCollar is ading, but still doable with either tie type. Pleated Shirtor Fine Ribbed shirt- French Cus are a must. Maybe youll get some cu links oryour Groomsmen.- I you go with a real bow tie, make sure you know how to tie itor have some one who knows how to be at your wedding.- ails are or conductors. Not cool, in our opinion. But, to eachhis own.

SUIS:A rened suit can also leave a lasting impression. A ne tailoredsuit is hip, young, and a rened alternative that almost anybody

can pull o. A suit can be a practical option or many grooms.Aer the wedding, a suit can be used or a variety o occasions.Your wedding may be the perect excuse or investing in one. Most high quality suits dont come cheap. Quality rarely does. But a well-made suit can last you a lietime i its properly takencare o. In recent years, a suit has become an acceptable alterna-tive to tuxedos. A suit can oer more exibility when it comes topersonal style. Tink Oceans 11, George Clooney, and Jude Law.

For a less ormal wedding, a nice suit can still be classy. A blackpinstripe suit will really look sharp next to your beautiul bridewith or without a tie! Again, take it a notch (or two) higher thanthe typical suit you would buy.

Dierent brands have dierent ts. For example, Prada makessuits that tend to be somewhat tted, Armani tends to be on thelooser side and Hugo Boss tend to t the tall, slender person verywell. Find a brand that matches your budget, t, and style, andstick with it.

Beach weddings can be extremely causal. Linen pants, a newhite pressed suit and bareoot. Stylin!Regardless o what you decide to do, make sure the suit yourewearing matches the mood and theme o the wedding.

    Honey Teriyaki Chicken

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, orange juice, mirin,

    honey, ginger and sesame oil.

Cut chicken thighs into bite-size pieces then add to the

marinade. Let it marinade or 15 to 20 minutes.

Heat oil in a large saute pan or wok (with lid) over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot use a slotted spoon to add the

chicken, but not the marinade. Save the marinade until later.Cook chicken, stirring occassionally, until lightly browned onall sides. urn the heat to medium-low then add the marinadeand cover pan with lid. Cook or 5 minutes. Remove lid thencheck to see i chicken has cooked through. I cooked, removethe chicken to a clean bowl. Allow the marinade to simmer or

1 to 3 minutes until thickened then toss with the chicken.

Finishing ouch: Sprinkle top o teriyaki chicken with orange zestthen serve with rice and/or vegetables.

Tis teriyaki chicken recipe can easily be made on a weekday andcomes together in about 30 minutes. With extra avour rom reshorange and sweet honey, this has become one o our avourite go-todinners.

Everything comes together really quickly or this one. Just throweverything into a bowl, add the chicken and marinate or about 15minutes. Ten, add the chicken to a hot pan and cook until lightgolden brown on all sides. Aer that, add the marinade and cookuntil it becomes shiny, thick and begins to coat the chicken.

We love using chicken thighs or this teriyaki chicken recipe, theresa bit more avour and the thighs are a little more tender than chick-en breasts. However, you could certainly use chicken breasts i thatsmore your style!

One more thing, we use mirin in this recipe. You can usually ndit in the international aisle o larger grocery stores or in Asian mar-kets. Mirin is a sweet rice wine used in Japanese cooking. Not onlydoes it add avour to this recipe, it also provides luster to the teri-yaki sauce.

    Prep time:20 minutes

    Cook time:10 minutes

    otal time:30 minutes

    Yield: 4

    NOES

    HO

    MEDECORDECORAING RICKS O MAKE

Moving into a new house usually takessome time to adjust. But with a minimumamount o eort, the transition rom onecomort zone to the next can be smoothand pleasant. Heres some decorating tipsand tricks that should convert your newhome into an oasis o relaxation or both

    you and your guests.

Tink Comortably- FashionableAdmit it-there isnt a single day that goes by with-out you stumbling across an incredible urniturepiece. Tat antastic red soa spotted in a designmagazine or the elegant armchair seen in a show-

room on your way to work call out to you andslowly determine the need or possession. But acozy home is not entirely about looks; it is mostlyrelated to how urniture can enhance that senseo sweet amiliarity. When testing a seating itemor your new house, can you imagine yourselcurled up in it with a good book and eeling allweight liing o your shoulders? I that is not thecase, perhaps you should keep searching. Ideally, urniture should pay tribute to both comort andstyle. But i coziness is what you are aer, a tinycompromise in aesthetics may prove to be a good

    idea in the long term.

Te Magic o ouchOne o the simplest tricks or a more welcominghome is texture. Surround yoursel with thingsyou would like to touch. Fluy carpets, wavywallpapers or smooth wooden urniture- allthese can be easily integrated in a modern room, making it eel less rigid and perectly comort-able. Moreover, when dealing with a large room, the proper use o abric and texture can reducethe scale and provide the much wanted sense o

    coziness.

Welcome Furniture DiversityBuying a large urniture set with everything in itmay be the easiest way o lling up a room, butit is not always the most suited. You probably donot want your new home looking like a show-room, and believe it or not this will probably bethe output o buying all your items rom a sin-gle place. Do not be araid o mixing things upa little, even i this means having dierent styleslined up. Diversity is the key to a vivid interior, one that stirs you up visually and that will prob-ably appeal to your guests also. I you considerthe overall result harmonious and enjoy being a

part o it, your riends probably will too.

Make Good Use o Warm ColoursIt is no longer a secret that colours have the sub-tle ability to elicit various emotions and moods, making this design sector particularly interest-ing. You should know that while cooler colourslike blue, purple and dark green can visually en-hance a room, warmer tones such as peach-or-ange, brown and red can make a space eel morecompact and thereore, more inviting. Just lookhow the generously-sized interior in the photoabove is signicantly reduced by adding cur-tains with an orange and red ower pattern next

to the red soas and yellow wall!

Multiple Sources o LightingWe oen neglect the magical eects lighting can

have on a room. It may seem strange, but withjust a ew xtures in the right place, a room caneasily appear bigger, taller longer, or cozier. Sowhat is it about lighting that can make a placemore inviting than the next? It all breaks downto the simple act o repetition. In order to reducethe scale o a room, consider placing several tablelamps around, or an intimate atmosphere. Youshould only use a ceiling light or larger gather-

    ings or ormal events.

Attention to DetailSmall things like candles, unny plush toys or abook in the right place can give you a nice eelingo calm, but attention to detail can do wonders

when having people over. A lot o people wastetime and energy in making their house spotlessand picture-perect beore the arriving o guests.Naturally, cleaning is good, but keep in mindthat riends come over to visit you, not to inspectyour home. Small things like resh owers spreadaround the house, a glass bedside carae in theirbedroom and the latest number o their avour-ite magazine on their bedside table are likely tomake their stay more welcoming than a super-tidy corner that they are not going to stumble

    upon anyway.

AmbianceSoothing background jazz music, dim light-ing rom various sources, plenty o cushions tochoose rom and armchairs that allow you to divein soness- just some ideas to consider when set-ting up a welcoming atmosphere in your newhome or yoursel or your riends. Add a glowingreplace light and your place is ready or a per-

    ect cozy evening.

Surround Yoursel with the Tings You LoveWhen planning on moving into a new house, thethings you love should take center stage. Yourhome must primarily reect who you are and therest will slowly all into place. Tat old collectiono vinyl records, the painting you received dur-ing your art camp or those unny hats you loveso much- simple things that come with precious

    memories.

    FINANCE

    SAR HE COUNDOWN

In marriage as in lie, there are ew guarantees, and one o themis this: You will have to address your nances together, and insome depth. Whether you get married in your 20s or your 50s,you may suddenly nd yoursel party to someone elses credit-card debt, child-support commitment, student loans or oreclo-sure history -- or you may be involving your spouse in your ownnancial baggage.

Romantic? No. But its a act o modern coupling. Even i youhave no monetary skeletons in your closet, marriage links youto someone else nancially in a way that requires, at minimum, some thoughtul decisions. Who will pay the bills? How will youdivide expenses? Will you combine everything? Nothing? Somethings?

Another guarantee: I you dont talk about money now, you willbe talking about it later, and perhaps not quite as calmly.Tese ve tips can help the newly married begin to work outtheir new, joint nancial status and hopeully avoid the scalmarriage meltdown that aects so many couples down the road.Te rst bit o advice is the most obvious one -- and is, in act, akey to overall marital bliss.

    1. ALK ABOU IPractice saying this phrase: Lets talk about it.Tis sentiment may be the most important one in your lie to-gether, and its crucial in your new nancial situation. Unor-

tunately, many couples leave nancial discussions or some u-

ture time when they become unavoidable -- in a crisis, or when

someone makes a major purchase solo, or when long-burieddebt suddenly comes to light.

Money can be an awkward topic. Its personal and the very op-posite o lovey-dovey. But the time to talk is now -- perhaps noton the honeymoon, but as soon as you get back home and settlein. Te glow o your new lie together can actually help here, since you may be more inclined toward nancial compromiseor a general generosity o spirit than later on, when lie goesback to being lie with all its stresses and distractions.

Set aside a couple o hours, sit down with a pad o paper, yourbank statements and other nancial documents and dig in. Youdont need to address everything immediately, but getting start-ed early is important to the practical success o your marriage.

    2. DISCLOSE EVERYHINGHopeully, you and your new spouse tell each other everything-- or just about. And hopeully you at least tell each other all othe important stu and will continue to do so.Guess what: Near the top o the list o important stu is whatyou do, have done and will do with your money.

I you have nancial skeletons, disclose them completely, andright away. Are you in debt? Do you have a bankruptcy in yourpast? Can you no longer aord the car you drive but cant bearto part with it?

    5 FINANCIAL IPS

    FOR NEWLYWEDS

    71/80

Even basic, neutral scal traits ought to be shared in order toavoid major conict down the road. Whats your money per-sonality? Are you a spender? A saver? Do you lean toward therisky or the sae side on the investment spectrum? Do you livewithin or at your needs? (Living above would probably all intothe skeleton category.)

Tese things will come out, so theres no point in keeping themsecret. Reveal them now, when How could you hide that romme? is not part o the discussion.

Its not just an issue o honesty in your relationship, though.Tere are steps you can take in your new situation to makemoney matters more manageable. For instance, i you keepyour nances separate until one spouse manages to raise his orher credit score, you may have the option o applying or loanssolely in the more nancially healthy spouses name. Or, i oneo you is a big spender and the other is a big saver, you can laysome ground rules early on and adjust your budget accordingly,

which reduces the likelihood that one partner ends up eelingnancially babied, stied or insecure.

Which brings us to the next newlywed money tip ...

    3. DIVIDE ACCORDINGLYWhether youve made it to your 20s, 30s, 40s or 80s beore ty-ing the knot, youve probably had at least a taste o nancialindependence. Some people are perectly ne with establishingcompletely joint nances as soon as they get married; but orothers, it can be a struggle.

Teres no law saying that when two people tie the knot, theyhave to close all individual accounts and open only joint ones.

You can, o course, combine everything, and i only one spouseis working, that may be the best move. But i both spouses geta paycheck, it sometimes makes sense to divide your earningsin other ways.

Tese days, lots o couples have a joint checking account orjoint expenses (such as rent or mortgage, groceries and enter-tainment), into which each puts a percentage o his or her earn-ings. On top o that, theyll also have two separate, individualaccounts where they keep their own money. Tey may evenhave both joint and separate savings accounts. Some spousesdont combine their earnings at all.

Te advantage to separate accounts is that both o you get toretain some level o scal independence. Many working adultscan nd it somewhat restrictive to suddenly need permissionbeore buying a new set o speakers or pair o shoes. Keepingsomething aside thats just yours can go a long way toward alle-

viating any issues o independence that may arise with a joiningo the nances.

Still, lots o couples nd it ideal to have only joint accounts, which makes sense considering your lives are now legally andnancially tied together. But thats not the only acceptable wayto do it. Consider whether you and your spouse would benetrom maintaining some degree o nancial independence, eveni that simply means some mad money, and go with it. What

matters is what works or you, not what your parents or your

    riends did.

O course, there are some things that every couple should do ...4. SAVE FOR LAERWhen couples are rst starting out, the road ahead can look sobright, so new, so unencumbered by the unoreseen. It can al-

most seem like nothing could go wrong.Or maybe not -- these days, with both grocery store clerks andstock brokers seeing pink slips at record rates, its become ratherobvious that nancial security is, well, not all that secure. Tosewho nd themselves without a cushion can end up in really hotwater i one or both spouses jobs disappear, or i a health emer-gency arises.

Putting money aside is a necessity. An emergency und shouldhold at least three months worth o living expenses, and preer-ably more. Tis kind o cushion can be the dierence betweenserious, long-term debt and a temporary setback. An emergency und, though -- kept in an interest-bearing ac-

count -- is just one o the necessary recipients o the money youset aside. I you plan to buy your own home, youll need to startbuilding up that down payment as soon as possible. Teres alsoretirement, which may seem pretty ar o now but can reallysneak up on you. One o the worst surprises couples can ace isan ununded retirement, and most experts recommend putting10 percent o every paycheck, or else whatever you can aord, starting now, into a tax-deerred retirement und to make sureyoure not caught o guard a ew decades rom now.

And nally, a somewhat unpleasant but very important task orthe new couple ...

    5. INSURE YOURSELF

You probably dont want to think about anything that incor-porates the line In the event o your untimely death. Nobodydoes. But now that youre married, even the remote possibilityrequires some attention.

You dont need to make a big thing o it. Tere are just two docu-ments that should be produced in order to protect your spouserom potentially damaging nancial repercussions: a will andsufcient lie insurance. Preparing a will makes it clear who willinherit your estate, and lie insurance helps ensure your spousedoesnt nd him- or hersel unable to meet your ormerly jointnancial obligations i youre gone.

What exactly goes into your will and how much lie insuranceyou need depends on your individual circumstances. Tere areguides online to help you decide, or you can talk to a nancialadvisor or even more detailed, customized assistance. You cancreate a will and purchase lie insurance online or do it in personwith an expert. Whats important right now is that you establishat least a bare minimum o legal and scal security, just in case.

Te point here is not to be morbid or pessimistic; its to createthe most nancially stable situation or your new lie together. When you get right down to it, its not even about money. ak-ing all o these steps to secure your nancial uture can help youon the road to creating a low-stress, high-happiness lie together-- and that is romantic.
