Assembly Instructions

Create your own passport by printing out these pages and following the assembly instructions here:

1. Fold the blue cover sheet in half vertically so that the blue printed portion is on the outside, as this will act as a cover for your passport booklet. Fold the remaining 6 sheets also in half vertically, but the opposite direction, so that the printed portion is on the inside, as these are your inside pages.

2. Now follow one of the two steps below:

a. Using a glue stick, glue the pages together so that page 2 is glued to page 3, 4 to 5, 6 to 7, 8 to 9, and 10 to 11. Then glue stick the cover to the booklet by attaching the front cover to page 1 and the back cover to page 12. Let it dry and you are ready to use your booklet.

b. Alternately, you can leave your book unassembled for now. The reason for this would be that you can use more than one page for each continent, as I will explain below. Then once all of the pages are filled in, you can then glue the finished book together with all of the pages that have been written on, giving your writer plenty of freedom to write at will.

How to Use this Booklet

Your passport booklet, whether assembled or as loose pages, can become your mini-journal of your “travels” throughout our world. Use the pages to record highlights – the facts that you have found most interesting – as you read through the pages of Expedition Earth.

There are pages for each continent that you study – Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America. You can record short quotes and highlights on these pages from your reading. If you like to write quite a bit, then you may want to follow the instructions under “b” above, so that you can write all that you want. If you don’t enjoy writing, then print out one page for each continent and follow instructions “a” above.
